Calling out div 1 etf2l teams

You guys are pussies for not playing prem and forcing a lower skill team into prem.

Legit, crying about losing and "uhh i dont want to tryhard", but then tryharding anyway and saying "I wasn't really tryharding, but THEY were" when you lose, is stupidest thing i've heard to buff your fragile little egos.

Respect to virtus bro, going prem when they were third div 1 last season. Respect to THE GAY JAIL going prem, even if forced to by admins.

Disrespect Boinicle, coming second div 1 and pussying out not going prem, even when they played prem qualifiers and got through. Disrespect beastmode, going div 1 even though they easily have capability to combat prem teams. Disrespect FIVE GUYS BURGERS AND FRIES, getting prem playoffs last season, swapping two players roles and getting a new medic, and saying that they are no longer prem skill to get into div 1 (when the two players swapped are onto equally skilled roles, and the new medic is a new medic, doesn't matter).

Admins stance is that they "cant force people to play prem" even tho thats literally how it works for any other division.
Someone just has to come out with an ironfist and make some unpopular decisions, last season was big enough a meme already when italians held admins on gunpoint about dodging div3 witg carbo mainclassing in mid or dying and frankly, trying to game the system like everyone involved in this should not be encouraged but a punishable offense

now we have a team in prem that would have to go out of their way to make div1 playoffs (with no disrespect meant to any of their players) which broadcasting wise is a much bigger farce than just playing prem with 7

Also and despite being friends with storm, compound also belongs on that list of teams, having won div1 last season, sure shuffled a bit but between hempus narrowly avoiding getting his prem debut before and jimbot provably being pretty good at demo it comes out on about the same

on the flipside, i wonder how this whole debacle would have ended if torrit just signed up on time for div1

I agree, they could be on the list, but I would believe them to be a weaker team than the rest (due to recent scrim results), plus moving enough players around (both leaving and receiving) to actually reasonably be div 1 level. Unlike the other 3 teams I mentioned.

mean we can play the blame game all day, end results the same, 2 teams dodge the invite spot, 2 teams full of prem players pretend like they arent, the whole fiasco with charlies team dying mid-qualifier cause they lost their demo (something they would have had 3 weeks to fix had it happened a day or so later as it turned out) and admins making possibly the most baffling choice to try to fix all this, on the expense of every other prem/div1 teams having games actually within their own skill division, as well as the viewers expecting the best tf2 they can get.
Very big collective failure.

any initiative for practicing and doing well?
I really don't see an incentive for any former prem player to keep grinding and practicing since they already proved they are capable of it, you can imagine they just want to compete for fun and not for the sake of being the best.

Thats the whole point of playing in a team. It makes no point to just consciously decide nerf yourself to play vs people you know youre better than. u might as well just play pugchamp all day nd not have a team.

This league has been adamant on not taking action where it's needed for so long it's no wonder that teams can just do this and know they'll get away with it. Every season half the divs get sandbagged in this league, everyone sees that it'd be a miracle to be actually forced to play the div you should be in.

Iunno at least admins are taking action where it's truly needed; debating banning the entirety of feila for using /flip to decide if they're going kritz or not.

i really don't see why one of the prem teams in d1 didn't get moved up and then matt's team (which is now the 8th prem team) would get put in d1 and order would be somewhat restored. admins should just disregard the folding threat and tell the players they can't get a prem roster and expect to play d1, and if they wish to fold they can. This way d1 will likely get owned by 2 teams and (no offense) the team that got put in prem will likely get owned there.

Hello dear Doughy,

Out of the 3 teams you listed as "pussy", I will argue that only 2 of those are legit.

Boinicle did finish first in the regular etf2l season 35 (and second in playoffs) and did participate in the etf2l season 36 premiership qualifiers. I believe the team they were supposed to play dropped, so they were awarded a spot in prem. I don't understand how they were allowed after all to say they didn't want to participate in prem anymore.

веазтмоде have a really strong lineup (2 ex prem runner ups, 1 prem winner and 2 players that have had a very solid prem debut). They are behaving like a prem team, scrimming and getting decent results against other prem teams. They could definitely be playoffs contenders in prem. But, from what I have heard (correct me if I'm wrong there), chris and funs said that if they were put in prem, they would simply not play. How is this allowed ? Building a prem team and then threatening to drop if you have to play prem ? To me, this team is the one that should've been put in prem and if they refused, the players should have been banned from playing etf2l (not all of them, respect to my mens silves and deli).

Now, concerning 5 gerz burgerz and fries, I don't think it is really legitimate to call them pussies and I think they do belong in div1.

  • They are mostly scrimming div1 team, having close games most of the times
  • They don't practise a lot since 1: they don't want to, 2: one player (da jordz) has limited resources/time to scrim
  • They sure did finish 4th in prem last season but let's take a quick look at the roaster changes
    • aph and mak stay on class.
    • opti goes to scout. last time he played scout was season 30 and i63, ascent fr/eu. Do you remember what happened ? very bad at the class and worst scout @ lan (tf2metrics confirmed it).
    • collaide medic. basically his debut in higher divs as medic. also has never played prem.
    • jordy soldier. While he has played prem (season 32), he hasn't played much since, only d1 iirc.
    • crayon soldier. Hasn't played prem in soldier, only d1 with jordy as well.

While the team is strong (contender for d1 winner), they don't belong in prem and would probably get 6-0 all the way there.

Also, no disrespect here, but putting the GAY JAIL team in prem is a really weird decision.

  • They've barely been scrimming and got pretty bad results
  • They have players with little to no experience in d1/prem divs
  • They have players known for being very unstable, players that have, in the past, left teams mid season, or were cut due to their behaviour.

Hello tftv humans.

There are points that could be made as for reasons why each of the 3 teams mentioned should play prem, most of which have already been mentioned in this thread. I’ll give my individual reasoning behind joining my team and playing div1 since I’ve been specifically mentioned by opti, as well as make a few admissions with the power of hindsight. I’ll also give my opinions on why I feel my team aren’t the biggest offenders in this mess.

If it wasn’t for corona virus I wouldn’t be playing the season, for the past couple of years I’ve only been playing tf2 when I’ve been off uni at the holidays, taking multiple months off at a time. Then corona happened and I was home early meaning I’d be able to play the season. I had intended on playing scout and played in the lockdown throwdown thing which didn’t go brilliantly. I realised that I didn’t enjoy playing scout anywhere near as much as I enjoyed soldier. I hadn’t fully made my mind up if I wanted to play the season until I noticed Funs had joined a div1 team after being asked by Graba. Funs and I are quite close, and I asked if his team needed a roamer, at which point he asked Graba and I trialed for the team and joined. Throughout doing this it hadn’t even occurred to me that we could be accused of sandbagging, although it probably should have. I hasn’t aware of deli’s record in prem and I thought utka was just some funny little russian bloke who wasn’t very good (he is). I knew Graba had played prem years ago and I knew silves and that he hadn’t played prem. Obviously I was aware that me and Funs have both been on top prems teams on the same classes we are playing now. I can only speak for myself here but I don’t consider myself being anywhere near as good as I once was and I thought that me not having played in a team in two years would have been justification enough to play div1.

Opti_But, from what I have heard (correct me if I'm wrong there), chris and funs said that if they were put in prem, they would simply not play.

Yes, this is true although once I again I cannot speak for Funs. I hadn’t intended on playing prem from the start. I’m not willing to put as much time into the game as I once did in order to play at the best level I can which I would feel compelled to do if I played prem. I wouldn’t be happy playing at the top level whilst not trying my best and committing to the game. I’m also only playing this one season so playing prem and not enjoying myself seemed pointless. Throughout the process of joining the team prem was never mentioned once, the idea behind the team was to have a chill season in div1 so when people started suggesting that we should have to play prem due to another team dropping out, I wasn’t a fan of the idea. So yes, I did tell my team that I wouldn’t want to play If we played prem. There was never any intention of putting the admins in a tough spot and I apologise for that. It wasn’t as if anyone on the team strongly wanted to play prem. Most people were only ok with the idea of playing prem if we were forced to, but would rather play div1. I'm aware the my reasonings behind not playing prem will not be sufficient enough for most, but I'm simply being honest. As for the comments that me and my team are “pussys” for not playing prem all I can say is u are what u eat.

In hindsight, if I’d know the actual ability of the people on the team before joining, I’d have been more reluctant to join as the sandbagging accusations would have been more predictable.

Having said all of this however, this situation would not have happened had boinicle not decided to first agree to play prem and then suddenly change their minds. Sure, my team and others would still be accused of sandbagging and what not but the outcome of the current situation is that a team that most feel shouldn’t be in prem now are which is far from the desired outcome. It’s a very regrettable situation but as I said, in my opinion this situation would have been avoided if boinicle where told they couldn’t suddenly decide they didn’t to play prem anymore, despite going through qualifiers.

funhaver1998its like a chess player with 2600 elo deciding never to compete in tournaments and just playing vs homeless people in washington square park

I also want to use this quote to point out some of the hyperbole when talking about this situation. It's not like my team or either of the other teams mentioned in this thread are playing in open, we're playing in the tier below prem. There will be close games against other div1 teams not mentioned in this thread.

Graba's message to his team, Thursday 4th June:

Guys, you can't help but notice that there's no competition in division 1 nor any challanges waiting to be completed. The whole season will be just based on us prooving that we indeed are sandbagging.

This will be acompanied by:
- pointless scrims against div1 teams
- wasting time for pcws where we have no objective
- fun overload (as latetly)
- not a single fuck given about what we do wrong
- reducing the number of maps we want to play probably to zero

What's more... people will have to go to uni, probably before the season even ends. The playoff stage is within 3-4 week range from the last game of the main season.

So I say... think how it'd look in prem....
- quality games giving a return on the time invested
- some real fun happening (casted games, interviews : D)
- keen atmosphere during gaming hours
- our missplays exposed to the max - constanly improving
- 2 map scrim days where we feel our need for competition is fullfiled
.... and more

Seriously, I feel like this division 1 is not worth the effort and I know this change of heart comes out of nowhere but maybe that's what we need to salvage this team from troll mania.

I also want to use this quote to point out some of the hyperbole when talking about this situation. It's not like my team or either of the other teams mentioned in this thread are playing in open, we're playing in the tier below prem. There will be close games against other div1 teams not mentioned in this thread.
MiaKitsuneGraba's message to his team, Thursday 4th June:

[quote=Chris]Hello tftv humans.
