bad idea with very questionable execution; sacrilege can not play pyro but he can play soldier his 6s main without issues? I generally agree with Olgha here.

DuMmTmCookye isnt playing for them, has played the game twice this entire year, which they obv know so they presumably didnt feel bothered to include in the list of restricted players

ok but nothing in the rulebook prevents cookye from showing up to matches and playing scout. If you go and say "oh but he's roster riding", that does not mean anything rules wise. Anything left at admin discretion (we dont restrict cookye he roster rides lol) especially touching an admin team is a recipe for more shitstorms during the season

Take a harsher stance about sandbagging = no players allowed to play 2 divisions below their level (ex : div2 can't play low, div1 can't play mid) unless on medic.
How to determine skill level and write it in the rules?
Either a player played several matches (=more than 1 per season) on at least 2 consecutive seasons:
Or a player played 4 matches or more for one season.
These two cases cover the substitute, the recently promoted, and the regular player.
Boom, done.

actually nevermind, bloodis is an evil mastermind and purposefully made his team lose every scrim to mid teams for the past few weeks so they can get a worthless mid winners medal

so cookye having played 2 games in 2019 on scout is unacceptable whereas profix playing actively is ok to mainclass as scout in mid? Interesting decision

It looks like it's based on etf2l matches. Profix hasn't played a single match the past two years, while cookye won div 1 one year ago

To be fair, based on his steam names, this extrasolar geezer is fortunate to only be banned from heavy.

I have not played the game in at least 1.5 years nor have I played many shooters during my time off but there is no need to discuss my class ban here. I'm gonna try resolve it with the admins and if it stays, well, tough luck. Shame about the timing but it is what it is.

Dont let it get to u Sami edit ur post back to the original for the culture, history, your own pride

but like imagine a scenario where the team needs a pyro and u guys have banned some guy from playing pyro even though what they can do on pyro is the same as what everyone else could do and theyjust lose the round cause their guy cant play last hold classes

like i get banning a prem sniper from playing sniper in low but non cookie cutter classes in other situations shouldn't be restricted

edit: read the first page

AlesKeeJynxiistopping a literal heavy main from playing heavy in 6s.. A team that ran a perma heavy on product came 3rd in low last season.

that had nothing to do with his ability as hoovy we'd just never played vs it and had no comms to communicate a solution and on the other map they did that it was much easier because that guy was doing that shit

damn imagine if esea had something like this maybe then we wouldn't have seen 2 consecutive seasons with the same exact teams winning open, im, and invite (believe it was the 8k and wrech teams in open and im)
johnmilter and other sandbag teams follow the same trend of offclass during regular season but mainclass during finals, would be interesting if they literally weren't allowed to play the classes in finals (probably a lot more fair lol)

I'm playing soldier so these restrictions don't matter to me. I wonder howevever about the general rule "3.6 The amount of players with higher experience is limited" is this now changed? Could be good to change it on the rules page if so.

Edit: Is ondkaja not allowed to play mid as soldier because he has played div 2? What if no div 2 team would want him? Is he forced to offclass? I think its good overall with the restrictions but there need to be some more clarity on when restrictions apply

this shouldn't be a subject of controvesy since this stuff happens every season anyway? i'm personally glad the admins are making it explicit exactly who can play what in a season now.

also if you want to play with a higher experienced player in a lower division its always wise to ask - thats what teams i've been on have always done.

i like that people are explicitly told what classes they cant play, this has been a thing for many seasons past btw but you had to work out what classes your team could/couldnt play via a convoluted rule

although the only offclass people should realistically be banned from smurfing on is sniper imo, but apparently banning offclasses is only for low so uhhhh

I'm really glad about the transparency and such, but I wish better methods were being used to go about the restricting. Right now it just seems like admins go through some of the players manually which takes too much time so there's very obvious cases that are being missed (as have been pointed out in this thread already)

I totally understand admins already have enough work and going through every single player's history would take way too long, but if the system currently in place allows for some players to be overlooked through sheer luck things need to be handled differently. Had they not have been pointed out in this thread, many wouldn't have been restricted all season.

Like league admin Proky having played prem sniper but being allowed to snipe in mid. AlesKee, his teammate, manages the class restriction thread. Not trying to accuse them of knowingly ignoring it but dear god that's such an oversight and shouldn't happen if the system in place was actually functioning the way it should

I think most players have some sort of integrity in that they wouldn't play their main class several divisions lower from their skill but there are always assholes who would so I think its still good to a good idea to have this.

However there is still the problem with prem HL snipers being allowed to snipe which can cause games to be won on certain maps solely due to the sniper they have so there is also that to consider.

There are no highlander restrictions above low in 6v6, it is stated in the etf2l thread.
