most important imo:

Removed
3.11. Class limits within the gamemode will also count dead players

now you can switch someone to med if ur med wont spawn in time for last for example (also 2 pyros and stuff if you kill the first one on gully)
edit: this is wrong ty coyo

When the results of any KOTH map in 6v6 are 3-2 this will count as a Golden Cap win/loss. This change is an effort to divide points fairer as in the current system there is no difference from a 3-2 loss and a 3-0 loss on KOTH maps. Please remember to check the Golden Cap box if your match had a scoreline of 3-2 when submitting results.

GC points now for KOTH 3-2 games

perhaps could change up a meta or provide a second defense to even-dwelling team while also providing an easier way to stalemate. Perfect!

The GC rule for KotH has been a thing in ETF2L Highlander for a while now, nice to see that in 6s too, especially in the higher tiers where there's 6-8 teams in a div and this can now actually matter for seedings.

Now to get logs posted in matchpage comments required for prem, similar to the STVs, like ozfortress has.

ETF2LWe have decided to put on a restriction on the classes directly in the server configs.

So no you can't swap if someones dead and exceed the classlimit

ETF2LIf a player is accepted on a specific class they must play this class and are not allowed to switch to another class unless if the opponent approved beforehand. If no restrictions are proposed the player can play any class.

Incredibly upsetting, was very funny watching ppl cry after they denied every merc but the only guy they allowed to merc "as med" played a different class so the other team were the ones being dicks.

highlander rules shouldn't carry over to 6s, maybe I'm alone in thinking this but I think 5cp GC points is contentious enough. There is actually 0 reason for there to be GC points for a 3-2 loss in 6s KoTH.

oh ty for clarification but doesnt this still lets people do the bug where 2+ dead people can pick the same class and they all spawn on a restricted class because it doesnt update until you respawn

I mean, it does but at that point you clearly acknowledge that you have at least two players running a class that's limited to 1 intentionally and not accidentally, in most cases the issue rose from player A dying as a pyro and player B switching to pyro too while player A is still in respawn queue. It's not like the base class limits are gone but the rule is easier enforced like this to avoid these accidents which made up around 99% of admin queries regarding that single rule.

I for one do welcome that change at least, though I don't get why do we need points rewarded for losing a KOTH map with a score of 2-3. At that point we should just switch to the NA way of league scoring to reward people for getting rounds in 5CP maps as well.

Doesn't merc class rule need something specific for offclassing? Eg. If a Merc is accepted for scout can they play sniper or pyro?

rn sounds like you have to ask beforehand if he can offclass
not the best solution

Yeah? And there's no difference between a 5-0 loss and a 5-4 loss on a 5cp map, what's their point?

seems a good change to me - you need GC points in the first place as rounds won is awkward for tiebreakers as we have two different gamemodes with completely different concepts of rounds. teams that practice koth would be at a disadvantage in tiebreakers. it's particularly noticeable in formats where you can ban maps in a round robin/swiss. this change makes it a lot easier for lans to offer map bans in the group stages, which I think everyone likes

Personally I think it would be interesting to consider a system similar to what they have in some sports, like how many goals your team makes and how many are made against you. Haven't actually thought about it too much so maybe it's absolute garbage, but it was used during SWELAN if I recall correctly. Might be incompatible with koth maps tho?

having a goal differential is unfair in a game with 7 different maps that play differently. in football a goal is a goal. in tf2, some maps have lots of rounds played, some are way slower and have fewer. some reach mercy rule which limits maximum potential rounds at an arbitrary point. one is koth which has 5 rounds maximum.

it just wouldnt make sense to have a system like that and (especially in prem) would place more weight on luck of the draw of which teams you play against for which maps

they should be more specific with the sandbagging rules imo
like if a guy wants to play 2 divisions below his previous div, what classes is he allowed to play? is he allowed to mainclass? are the sandbagging rules the same in 6s than HL?

The list of players who could not play a particular class in their div was nice, maybe they'll redo it.

zxpThe list of players who could not play a particular class in their div was nice, maybe they'll redo it.

Last season I asked if they would post one of these lists again for S34, but I didn't get a response. I liked it as well cause it was very clear.

The table for default mercs in highlander is really nice, but I still have a question. A player is not allowed to be claimed as a default merc in mid when he's playing prem/div1/div2. But if it's his first season in a div higher than mid, he's still allowed to default merc (in mid playoffs for example) if he leaves the roster? So in an extreme example, a player jumping from mid to prem is allowed to default merc in mid if he leaves the prem roster (cause his team didn't make playoffs in prem and he still wants to merc in mid playoffs for example).
