With the entire ETF2L Season 50 Premiership cohort in attendance, competition at ÜBERFEST 2025 will be especially fierce. Let’s take a look at the teams and how their online results have been going.
Aragosta
- juxta
- varnu
- Maccy
- SIA
- Dejvi
- iMauriceiNoob
The jump in overall quality of ETF2L Premiership between AFS 2025 and Season 50 proved tough for Aragosta to handle. Despite picking up three new players: veteran chaos-creator varnu and Prem debutants iMauriceiNoob and SIA, they finished their second consecutive season at rock bottom of the table. But with the team improving week-by-week, and with a wealth of LAN playoff experience in their scout duo, Aragosta can dream of ending their run of rough form with some statement upset wins in Stuttgart. As has been proven in many events gone by, anything can happen on 5 ping.
TFTV: Which Aragosta player do you think will shine most on LAN?
Dejvi: I'm sure everyone will have their moment of glory, but I think Maccy will be the flashiest! I saw the season casters having a special place for Maccy already, and I have a feeling he won't let them down.
TFTV: Do you have any specific goals for this LAN?
Dejvi: Drink, have fun, impress and review the Italian restaurant at the venue
TFTV: Which team are you most excited to play against?
Dejvi: All of them, we don't fear like all the prem dodgers.
DIRTY MAGGOTS
- aph
- voxtec
- kn
- Jordy
- zambz
- piggles
Technically speaking, DIRTY MAGGOTS came into the 50th numbered ETF2L season as reigning champions, although their victory came under a different name and with only half of the same roster. But the introduction of poLANd.tf grand finalist zambz and ÜBERFEST 2024 grand champions voxtec and Piggles only strengthened them, as they managed a second place finish in the much more hotly contested Season 50. voxtec’s transition to flank scout allowed Jordy to move over to roamer where he and kn formed a deadly duo, well…, until the latter earned himself an ETF2L ban which took him out of playoffs completely. Super-sub Gigi was on hand to guide the maggots to the grand final, but Witness Gaming once again proved too tough to handle. With their full roster back, and humiliating grand final to shake off, DIRTY MAGGOTS are out for revenge.
TFTV: voxtec is mostly known for his pocket scout, notably earning ÜBERFEST MVP in this role last year. How has he been fitting into your team on flank scout?
zambz: Took some adjustment but he's been very willing to work on his gameplay, suits our team very well at this point.
TFTV: What are your goals coming into the LAN?
zambz: 1st place dirty maggots on top!!
TFTV: Which player on your team do you expect to get the biggest LAN buff?
zambz: Jordy
/for fence
- Nevo
- Cuby
- Brujman
- dmoule
- deli69
- mulaa
/for fence enter ÜBERFEST with a point to prove. After the high of becoming the first all-French champions in Season 48, coming into 2025 they struggled to find consistent results against the top teams in Europe, with the golden midfight loss to MANDEM in the poLANd.tf lower bracket final a particularly tough result to take. And just when their fortunes appeared to be turning in ETF2L Season 50, that campaign was cut short in untimely fashion by the pirates. LAN success would be the ultimate form for redemption, and with Cuby even crossing the Atlantic for some more LAN reps this summer, this could finally be the moment where the stars align in France.
TFTV: /for fence currently have the longest standing roster in Europe, do you think this gives you any advantage in a LAN setting?
Brujman: I think it is definitely an advantage in any competitive setting. WG have been playing with the same core for much more time than us, but against other teams it will be a good advantage for us for sure, especially in high pressure games at LAN.
TFTV: In Poland you narrowly missed out on making it to the grand final, a golden midfight loss in map 3 of the lower bracket finals. Do you think you can improve on this finish in Stuttgart?
Brujman: We definitely expect to make it to the grand final this time. We played last LAN in pretty bad conditions, since I didn't play the first day, which I think is very important to get used to the set ups, which were very awkward because of the very small desks. We will be in much better conditions this time so I think we will make it to the grand final, and I’m very hyped to play on stage.
TFTV: Which team do you expect to improve the most when playing on LAN compared to online?
Brujman: I think we can’t really end up with a worse placement than in the ETF2L season. We definitely choked our online games, but we all have a lot of experience on LAN and it was our main goal, so I think we will be the team with the best results compared to the online ones.
PINT GAMING
- andi
- sk
- smile
- Warped
- AlienSmiley
- patchouli
Season 50 was a story of “what could have been” from PINT GAMING’s perspective. Multiple narrow losses against some of ETF2L’s top teams landed them in 5th place, just outside the playoff spots, but PINT were a mere couple of pushes away from taking down some big names and earning a chance in playoffs for themselves. Whilst all six of the players had great moments, it was Prem debutant Andi who became talk of the town with his combination of incredible mechanics and fearless aggression which lead to some outrageous statlines. Whilst PINT were on the verge of some strong results online, perhaps a LAN environment could be what it takes for smile’s latest project to tip some of these matchups into victories.
TFTV: You narrowly missed a top four position this season, now with more time together with your roster how much improvement do you think you can make at LAN to this placement?
Warped: We have only had one scrim since the season, so we're probably going to place worse. I've been cut from the team so idgaf.
TFTV: Do you think that the fact that you know you are being cut will help you to play better individually due to the reduced pressure?
Warped: I am going to be the Degster of TF2. Getting MVP without a doubt. I never go for frag movie clips at LAN, but that's all changing now. Every other clip Beater gets is going to be one of mine.
TFTV: Speaking of clips, Andi has been popping off all season long. How do you think he will fare at his first LAN?
Warped: Scout is an easy class, he would actively have to be trying to throw to have a bad LAN. I believe in in him!
Testimonianza di Gioco
- toemas_
- ixy
- papi
- Silentes
- LUKASTANK
- auto
Witness Gaming, now with an Italian twist to their name, once again travels to a LAN following a dominant online performance. Whilst some of the regulation season maps were fairly close, Witness found their top gear in playoffs with perfect sweeps against DIRTY MAGGOTS in both the upper bracket and grand finals. The return of legendary roaming soldier Silentes to the active lineup has added even more star power to the already stacked roster of world champions, so as is the norm by now Witness Gaming are odds-on favourites to add another trophy to their ever-growing collection. The strongest Australian and North American teams failed to topple the European titans in Denver, so how will the rest of ÜBERFEST fare against Testimonianza di Gioco?
TFTV: How well has Silentes fit back into the team after his hiatus from competition?
toemas_: Sil's been out of practice for a while now. It shows.
TFTV: You are currently on a five-LAN winning streak, which team do you think has the best chance of beating you and ending the streak?
toemas_: Yesterday is history, anything can happen on the day.
TFTV: Finally, many expected your team to enter LAN under the name “Witness Gaming”, what is the story behind your alternative name choice?
toemas_: There isn't any story.
The Bloodsail Buccaneers
- junnu
- sail
- silves
- bl0ke
- mak
- EoN
Following his 5th-6th place finish in Poland despite winning a BO1 against Witness Gaming, Captain mak sailed far and wide to the lands of Sammakot and Venomcrest to rebuild his roster, recruiting EoN, junnu and silves to his swashbucking crew. The waters were choppy in the regular season, but The Bloodsail Buccaneers came to life in playoffs where they sank Season 48 champions /for fence and almost beat title holders DIRTY MAGGOTS. Product was a map of particular strength, as the shift of junnu to perma-sniper and silves to scout worked wonders in both of their playoff games. With the whole team stepping up to peak form right as their ship reaches full steam ahead towards Stuttgart, maybe they could be on track for some silverware treasure.
Allen’s Workshop
- 0mger
- $neaky
- Kosuke
- Phnx
- ympo
- wildpiggie
The only invite team not playing in the current ETF2L season, Allen's workshop, should not be underestimated despite their lack of online presence. This core of players has previously competed under the names Alien Workshop and The Dogs, with the latter placing 4th at ÜBERFEST 2024, considered the best underdog performance of the event. Whilst recent online ETF2L results are nothing special compared to the other Invite teams, they are a team known for experiencing the “LAN buff” and have a habit of punching well above their weight when on 5 ping. A repeat of the 2024 placing may be a large ask for the Workshop, but a heap of crazy clips for the post-LAN fragvid will always be a given.
TFTV: How have preparations been going, and how do you think your LAN team compares to the rest of the Invite group currently playing in the online season?
wildpiggie: Preparations have been solid, though we haven’t had many chances to scrim actual Premiership teams... unless you count Aragosta, which feels a bit generous.
TFTV:Your team has a lot of LAN experience playing alongside each other, do you think this gives you an advantage over other teams?
wildpiggie: LAN experience helps, but our real advantage is that we tend to play noticeably better once we've downed a couple blue bonks.
TFTV: Which team are you most looking forward to playing against in Stuttgart?
wildpiggie: We’re definitely looking forward to playing vs whoever crawls out of the open bracket and Aragosta.
