INFO

Hosted by MGE.tf, the MGE.tf 1v1 World Championship 2025 will take place 26-27 July and feature competition from multiple continents fighting for the lion's share of $5,000, the largest prize pool in MGE history. Notable players from the recent intercontinental LAN, Physgun Fireside Denver 2025, will be competing. Such names include froyotech's b4nny and habib, and Like A G6's kobe1920 and bomo. Across the oceans, ixy of Witness Gaming EU and silvo from Witness Gaming AU have been called up to represent their regions as the best each has to offer.

There is a standing invite for RGL 6v6 Invite medalists, but they must have played a combat class in a playoff match during the season they placed top three.

Additional info about the event can be found in MGE.tf's thread here.

FORMAT

MGE.tf is hosting two open qualifiers preceding the tournament. With only the winner from each qualifier progressing to the main event, there are only two spots up for grabs. Each qualifier will feature 16 players, with Open Qualifier #1 taking place on Badlands Middle and Open Qualifier #2 taking place on Product Middle.

Eligible players can sign up in the MGE.tf Discord.

All players must meet one of the following criteria to sign up:

  • Participant has an MGE ELO Rating of 2200 or more, verified by MGE.tf admin
  • Participant has played a full season of RGL 6v6 Main or higher, or the regional equivalent Criteria subject to change based on signups.

Main Event

The arenas played during the tournament will be preset — Badlands Middle, Product Middle, and Ammomod. Players may agree to a soldier-only match which changes the arenas to Badlands Spire, Gullywash Middle, and Badlands Middle; additionally, players may agree to play gunboats-only.

The group stage will feature two groups of sixteen competitors; each group will feature a swiss triple elimination format, with the top eight of each group advancing to the next day of competition. During this stage, each arena will be played as a best-of-one game, with the series being played as best-of-three arenas.

On Sunday, the top four players from Saturday’s group stage will advance directly to the 8-player double elimination bracket where each arena will be played as best-of-three, as opposed to best-of-one during the group stage. The other players who advanced from Saturday will compete in a single elimination play-in bracket, with the top four joining the 3-0 players in the championship bracket.
