glasscould you spin off the traditional 6s stuff into a new discord? or have you done that already? right now i see a traditional 6s lfs page in the prolander one. it would be nice to get trad 6s match announcements without getting hl/7s announcements.

ps why does rgl.gg log me out so fucking much, and then i have to dig out that stupid steam guard shit to get back in. god i hate steam

We are planning to merge all discord into one eventually. Eventually, we'll also add in roles to help with the issues you talk about.

For the log in issue, that's because each of the websites is on its own subdomain and the cookie that saves you login does not handle cross sub domain support. I've looked into it a bit with asp.net auth, but haven't found a great answer yet. Definitely something on my to-do list for QOL thing.

Actually, technical note to Sigafoo and whoever helps with the web development:
As sexy as subdomains are, having a lot of cross-domain links completely kills the user experience because of the additional delay, my school intra-net had a setup like this and crossing a domain would take over 5 seconds, it was honestly unbearable. It's not just a matter of having high quality servers with low response times, crossing a domain requires the browser to drop the current connection, call DNS, initate a new one, do the SSL handshake, etc.
I recall Sigafoo mentioning RGL was getting revamped at some point, please drop the subdomains in that version.

yo this super early match time is going to kill west coast teams. if you have an opponent who is east they can just force 6pst match time by denying all reschedules which is not possible for many west players. hope to see that changed!

also hope we can move away from the ESEA match style since no one else uses it :]

I would like to add to the voices that are concerned about a 9pm EST match time. One of the main reasons I won't consistently play in ESEA is that 6:30 is already too early for me to arrive to scrims on time.

Not to mention that any NA team(s) attending i65 would realistically not have any practice on two staple maps of the international LAN map pool. i65 is right in the middle of the RGL season

I like to think I'm pretty aware of lots of the maps that are out in testing rn, and i have never played nor heard of koth_clearcut before. That's not to say it's bad, but that doesn't give me a ton of confidence in the map.

edit: although I do notice it's being actively updated, which I guess is a good sign

We want to be nimble and the global whitelist seems to be the opposite of that. Being bogged down in bureaucracy is not a good way to make balance decisions, IMO.

Why tf do you need to be nimble with regard to weapon bans in this game lmao, I played a shitton of overwatch and if that game had bans that would make sense because blizzard actually updates their game frequently (could've avoided moth meta entirely....) Valve doesn't do shit.

Global whitelist makes infinitely more sense, playing a different game when you go from NA to literally anywhere else is stupid. And I bet most people like the global whitelist better anyway.

This also worries me slightly. Not that sigafoo would ACTUALLY do it, but this gives him the power to do to TFTV what EVLTV did to him.

(For those who weren't around back then, apparently what happened is EVL would get UGC to change STV passwords so that sigafoo couldn't cast them in an effort to stop him from streaming the same game, and i believe also other games as well.)

10 PM eastern is pretty dumb not gonna lie. It screws over west coast players who may not get home until a bit later. With my former job, I literally wouldn't get home until 11 EST due to commuting. If someone on the west coast has my type of work/issue, they literally won't be able to play without rescheduling every single match. However, I am excited that there is a legitimate league forming.

It would be nice to have a universal ruleset, but no actual efforts have been made by any parties towards achieving one.

I for one am of the opinion that the people in our community aren't petty children. RGL wishes to centralize the casts for specific matches to increase viewership. It isn't intended to malicious in the slightest and it is annoying seeing people spinning it that way.

I didn't intend to spin it as something that exists out of malicious intent, I just was concerned because it's something that HAS been done maliciously in the past. It's only an issue if it's abused.

I regret not trying harder for the ESL league, we wouldn't have had to deal with this mess if it happened.

Jarrett000whatever league mimics ESEA the most would probably get the most traffic, I would imagine. The more change all at once you throw at someone, the more turned off they'll be to the idea.

I still believe this is true and it makes me kind of curious why it would be decided that this season, of all seasons, would be the perfect time to implement not 1, but 2 new maps into the rotation.

As much as people might dislike badlands and granary, with all of the other changes people have to adjust to with joining a new league, I'm sure at least some would rather have things like this stay the same for the short term. How many? Well, nobody really knows, and that's kind of an issue.

The invite meetings in the past have been heavily criticized not for having the final say in decisions, but not taking the public majority into account at all when making them. For the past year or two attending these meetings I've tried to push for more public posts on the forums so tri can reference what the community wants when the captains in the discord debate about which decision is better.

What I find interesting is with the regular season between the top and bottom of the league being different (invite and advanced can p/b and ban what they don't like, everyone else is back to assigned maps per week), it doesn't appear the lower half was inquired at all about what they would want (please correct me if I'm wrong). That's at least 50% of your potential player base.

I would rather have top players making the final decision like normal yes, but if you want to introduce x, and it turns out 200 players didn't want x, it's not good when we're at a point where everyone's trying to find a new home, and nobody is obligated to commit to anywhere. It just doesn't seem like a good move to me.
