How is etf2l after all this time still doubling down on all their stupid decisions.
Some things never change.

Since Lukas already said it I might as well confirm that our old ascent roster was planning on playing this next season, but right now with an off-season this long, the chances of people losing motivation or deciding to spend energy on other things, are becoming much higher. We didn't wanna break the news this early but since ETF2L seem content with refusing to move the season or even release a proper response to the feedback from many respected top players and the community in general, it looks like we're compelled to tell people now. I agree with what Eemes said as well; why not have a poll on this to get some more clarity on what your players actually want...

So now you literally have the best "active" team that wants to play the next season (and probably stick around for the one after as well, if this supposed LAN event you are delaying the season for in the first place happens), what can possibly be a valid reason for not responding and continuing with delaying the season?

Yo ETF2L, talk to your players will you. A few words or even a single sign that shows that you read this and take anything into consideration (or nothing) would be most welcome. Right now you're just leaving lots of players outside in the cold and that's after nearly two weeks. Any sign, shouldn't be that hard honestly.

the fact that they havent moved the season or even responded yet says a lot about this supposed "community feedback orientated" league, lol

We can have polls about whether or not do we want promod in a season but not whether or not do we want a third season in this year, really fair huh.

The decision to not have a fall season is to me puzzling and I am not really buying the reasons that were given in the post.

First of all, experimental cups are not a proper replacement for a full season, for various reasons. One reason is that experimental cups are supposed to test new things, not be the main way of playing the game, which it would be in the absence of a proper season. A second reason is that winning an experimental cup is far less rewarding than winning a season. Furthermore, these cups have historically been held without impacting the schedule of the main season, so I don't really understand what conditions have changed in order to necessitate experimental cups as a replacement of a season.

Secondly, the reason given to align the seasons with Copenhagen Games is strange to me as well, given that this event most likely will not even happen due to the fact that we are currently in a pandemic. Even if the event does happen, I don't see how aligning the seasons with the event provides such a benefit that it is worth skipping an entire season for.

Consider the risk of not having a fall season. The risk of players quitting is fairly high in the absence of a season, and it would be naïve to think that this decision has no impact on the player base. As such, ETF2L is taking big risks with small potential rewards. We need the player base to be as strong as possible in order to be able to arrange LANs in the future. We have the luxury of being the only region that is able to have two big LANs annually. If the player base – and consequently LAN attendance – dwindles, then this privilege will definitely be under question. The risk simply outweighs the reward greatly in this case.

Last weekend there was a discussion in the ETF2L discord about this topic where some of the admins, mainly Aoshi, responded to a few messages. I think the most important ones people want to see are these:

I understand that there is probably vitriol being thrown at the admins, obviously not a good thing, but to just boil everything down to 'irrelevant personal opinions' and 'pointless meme comments' (with the example being pls have season before 202[1?]) and call that degeneracy I'm really not sure what they're expecting?

even the example he gives could be just extracted as 'I don't consider cups as a valid replacement for 6s' and 'I don't consider highlander a valid replacement for 6s' which are both things the admins clearly weren't 100% sure about. I also can't understand why personal opinions or multiple people saying the same thing is somehow useless? this is literally the basis of feedback

I don't think you can honestly expect an online community to do much more than give their opinions, and if you just discount peoples feedback (and calling it degeneracy is just that,) because it wasn't long enough or was a repeated opinion, or wasn't put in a friendly enough way, I mean I would get ripped to fucking shreds if I tried that when someone gave me feedback about a map

Wouldn't have happened if I were still an admin

For real though it seems as clear as day that the vast majority of players, especially top players, are against the decision that ETF2L has taken. At this point, I just don't understand what's stopping ETF2L from having at least a public vote, if not just straight up just asking everyone mid/div2 and above to fill a google form (which has been done in the past as well and took like couple days at most) to elaborate what they think. Whatever man.

RGL isn't an option for me because I now work closer shifts, would just like to be able to play on a team again and make some friends across the pond that I can hang out with when LANs finally start happening again :(

Regardless of degeneracy and meme comments received in discord you have now been given legitimate and non-degenerate comments and feedback to not having a season. You now have genuine responses and disagreements from top players and people saying that theyre not going to be able to play a delayed season and potential loss of top teams/players - yet because this isn't degenerate comments or meme comments you choose to ignore it instead as you have no valid response to these and cant simply wave them off as comments not worth talking over (e.g. lol hl).

and regardless of not expecting such disagreement - you have now said yourself that you have received more disagreement than expecting. That literally shows you that the decision you made was a naive one and not fully thought out. If you were expecting this much disagreement then your decision wasn't naive it was just stupid.

Dont let peoples comments in the discord channel take over civil comments on TFTV.

Personally, I dont play comp anymore so it doesnt matter to me but ignoring peoples opinions and feedback is pretty dumb lol.

As AC staff I'm not involved with the scheduling or the other League Admin related stuff, but I feel like this should be posted here as not everyone is on the ETF2L Discord and can see the responses in the feedback channel:

31 July 2020
[12:52] charlietf2: whats the chances on next season being this year @League Admin.
[22:05] charlietf2: i am not trolling and the question is not pointless because hundreds of people agreed on tftv and nobody gave a response from etf2l
1 August 2020
[10:00] Löwenzahn: It's not a troll nor is it a pointless question to ask. I understand your frustration and you have every reason to feel that way. Some of us have been very busy with work, uni and real life recently, so we haven't made massive progress or decided anything, thus there hasn't been a proper feedback or answer yet. However, there has been a lot of negative feedback about the proposed schedule, so we have every reason to overthink our schedule. We'll be discussing it and hopefully come to a conclusion and decision in the next couple days. I'm sorry that there hasn't been a proper feedback yet and you all had to wait so long.

With Open, Low, Mid and Division 2 grand finals played and finished, can we get any new updates on this situation now or do we still have to wait for Division 1 and Prem grand finals to be played?

We're reaching to a time when majority of the people who just played in the season are considering the most whether to stick together as a team or not, especially if they would have to wait until next year, yet ETF2L is showing us their best Valve imitation here.

imagine wanting to make a team now and waiting till next year to play the official, you're risking more than half the teams getting sick of playing with each other and all wanting to stop playing the game
