I'm ready for the 2 heavies, 2 engies, 2 medics final defense, only to lose to six invis spies decloaking on the final point.

Cyanici just cannot see any instance where this is actually fun to play seriously

Well the goal of this, is not to prove that this format is amazingly fun. The goal of this is to get as much real feedback as possible to give to Valve to help bring the comp community and Valve closer together.

Whether that's finding out, this is an amazing format or finding out it has issues that need to be resolved and here's the evidence to prove it.

I think all parties are going to be able to take away something positive from this event.

I don't know why people are upset, either this will definitively prove that no whitelist/ no class limit tf2 isn't fun or it'll prove that it works fine.

Either way, free check

edit: also for payload the map better be pl_tapline because that map deserves another chance in 6s

i can kind of understand it if that's the approach you were going for but i think just having a no whitelist league would have been a better approach in that case

Fuck it I’m willing to play just for the feedback. I think this league should fizzle out after a bit but it would be nice to play with these items with MONEY on the line so that they get tested in a serious environment.
lft flex role i guess

I think you summed it up perfectly.

I don't expect us to continue the league, unless the format is well liked. And if it is, then we might consider retiring Prolander in place of this. This pilot league/event, first and foremost is to promote experimentation with money on the line and get feedback for the community and Valve. If we actually learn the format is actually good, then that's a bonus and we might pursue it more, depending on what other leagues do.

Yeah nah this is one of Sigafoo's most tame ventures. Unironically wish you the best of luck with discovering stuff but truth be told, passing the info on to valve won't do shit. They can't rebalance stuff properly anyway, and this is assuming they want to.

wasn't aware you had been to valve and spoken with the dev team recently, would love to hear about your meeting and what they told you they want?

@lucrative

if they even make a balance update it will be shit. all of them in the past have been. The ones that are closest to good still have some retarded nonsense sprinkled in. They are incompetent fuckers, completely out of touch with their own game. They should know shit like Milk, Jarate, Wrangler, Rescue Ranger is retarded but they don't. Most this shit has been in the game for half a decade or longer borderline untouched.

Instead they nerf stickies and minigun in the weirdest way possible, even if the nerfs are warranted (not in the case of the minigun, perhaps in the case of stickies)

history shows I am right, they don't know what the fuck they're doing lmfao. "statistics" hasnt done shit cause they always say they buff/nerf based on that, but its clearly bullshit or irrelevant. This league/project has noble intentions but isnt gonna accomplish anything.

this is the mindset that is gonna keep TF2 from ever becoming something better. sigafoo makes a great point in the video that this needs to be tested so the data is there. valve tried it with MM but no one played that, they got no feedback, nothing changed. I hope people will take this into consideration and since it's a paid league players are gonna actually try in it

if you read a single word i put u would know that they already have data and did fucking nothing with it lmfao. They DID get feedback, people (including myself) e-mailed the team. Fuck, there was that one patch where people could feedback before they implemented shit. And it was still god awful. Stop shilling for valve. They won't and don't do anything for us besides a few blog posts and 1 update a year in which half of the content is beneficial for the game and the other half is irrelevant garbage.

There are 2 things stopping tf2 from achieving greatness. The dog shit devs and our lack of balls to create a pro mod and completely shut us off from the rest of the game (which is admittedly, quite a cringe solution).

This has been the longest void between major content updates in the history of the game.

Meet your Match was on July 7, 2016. The start of Jungle Inferno was on October 16, 2017. The gap is 1 year, 3 months, and 9 days, with Jungle Inferno being heavily teased as something that is actually happening.

The last day of Jungle Inferno was October 20, 2017. Today is February 10, 2019. The gap is 1 year, 3 months, and 21 days, without any indication of what is going on.

Yeah guys, Valve really cares and we should continue to pander to this company's wishes.

Oh and also, b4nny's big valve visit was 2 years, 9 months, and 7 days ago.

That being said, it's sigafoo's own money and league and he can do whatever the fuck he wants with it.

I'm glad this will give folks a chance to have some fun, and I hope it's enjoyable to play and etc

But the idea of passing 6v6 data on to Valve in February 2019 is beyond silly. You're living in a fantasy land if that's your idea. I can't imagine something more out of touch with reality.

Ditch that piece, have your fun league, stop trying to pretend competitive can LEAD anywhere or BECOME something. Enjoy it for what it is - just enjoy the fact that there's a fun league where you can play with your friends unless you win Invite every year, fuck around with unlocks, treat it like 4v4 and just have fun. There's definitely a place for this, but don't make it weird by pretending it's leading to some greater good and some 6v6 breakthrough and all these dreams we had in 2014.
