I am 27 and have spent several full years (8600 hours in a year) playing various games. I was thinking back at all the fun moments I have had in videogames over the years and tried to ask myself, of all the time I have spent playing games, what was the most fun I have ever had in a videogame ever? For me it might be drunkenly deranking to silver 1 with my buddy over the course of an evening in 2020, but I am curious to hear all of your most cherished gaming memories.

probably the first few seasons of H1Z1 when it first split off from being a dayz clone and having the BR mode as its own standalone game. battle royale started as a mainstream thing with that game and i was bit by the bug so bad. the gunplay was unbelievably fun and i was so, so addicted

When the update for CS came out that had drivable vehicles for the first time, it was a week before a big local LAN. We spent all weekend on some giant racetrack map laughing our asses off the whole time for two full days.

every year for my birthday i host a LAN party for my friends, one year we were all playing a custom bo3 zombies map called shrek zombies, we spent about 2 hours doing the easter egg and getting prepped to do the boss fight in the map. we all downed within 12 seconds to lord farquad, but it wasnt really ever about winning :)

Wii sports, played so much of that with friends and family. Even the older people in my life who never played video games loved playing that. For solo games it has to be DDR.

probably human falls flat

nothing beats the fever dream of downloading weird chinese maps from the workshop and subjecting everyone to watch a 5 minute fan edit of the matrix reloaded film to get a code to open a door

One year I had a cookout with some buds, we all got some big ass burgers and sat to play some mario party 3. That entire session lasted 5 whole hours of just pure fun and laughs as we sabotaged eachother over and over only for the winner to get chosen by a single bonus star.

lan parties at my friends house playing a cracked version of star wars battle front 2 on the map where everyones a jedi and youre all just force pushing each other into walls. That, and also pudge wars on a cracked copy of warcraft 3. Probably caused myself irreparable lung damage laughing so hard at both of those.

I still remember absolutely no life-ing a calamity terraria server with friends for like a week or two straight. just like 8 hours talking and gaming nonstop, it was so fun and probably the most i've ever talked or laughed in my life.

i don't think there's a game I replayed more story wise than GTA: SA. The missions and story is just so fun to me and you still find new things even after a couple playthroughs. After playing almost every gta game, that one I still find to be the best.

First time I lauched WoW in 2006 and I just went around killing mobs and exploring the Undead zone for a good month without any knowledge of what this game was, quests or whats coming next, or any idea of what the endgame is just pure "holy shit this is amazing" type fun.

Discovering airshots in tf2 second happiest gaming moment.

Couch co-op halo reach forgeworld with the boys in middle school. Pizza and mountain dew, not breaking one stereotype.

The Dwarves vs Zombies minecraft server when it first came out, running around with my friend and roleplaying our little hearts out.

The first 48 hours of meet your match. Getting a little stack together and grinding comp games alternating against brand new casual players and literally froyotech. (s/o muma throwing one for us)

The days leading up to Genesis 3 melee. I had just picked up the game and flew out to San Jose to stay with a friend I met playing TF2. We stayed up late as hell smoking weed and learning how to wavedash. After pools we hung out at a "gaming" bar/ restaurant thing and tried unlocking all the characters we could on the gamecube they had there since nobody had a memory card on them.

i LOVE to game
