sync rocket terms

"sync" usually means 2 rocket sync, although it can refer to any other kind of sync (like quad, wall, etc)
double sync = 2 rockets
triple = 3 rockets
quad = 4 rockets
quint = 5 rockets

All of them include the rocket that you shoot on the ground

Anyone who calls a triple sync a double sync is maddening.

one rocket in air 1 on ground = double (two rockets)
two rockets in air 1 on ground = triple (three rockets)
3 aerial + 1 grounded = quad
4 aerial + 1 grounded = quint

I keep hearing about some Titanic syncing decades ago; is that a TF classic reference?

Everyone in the thread so far is wrong. It’s not total rockets, nor is it rockets not counting the one you jump with. Maybe play some jump servers and learn the terminology.

Confirmed by aurora: it’s the opposite. It’s not all rockets you sync, but the last rocket doesn’t count. The correct way is: count the last one, not the ones you shoot to sync with.

For example:

One rocket in air, one on ground: single
Two rockets in air, one on ground: single
Three rockets in air, one on ground: single

This thread makes it clear that the current terminology on the matter is just not sufficient. I hereby openly propose to use two more distinct terms to resolve the issue, them being "Rockets Shot Towards A Surface During Flight" (or short: RSTASDF) and "Rockets Shot Towards The Same Surface As RSTASDF While Not In Flight" (or short: RSTTSSARSTASDFWNIF).

As you can see these terms enable proper distinction of the two modes and make for easy and clear communication, at last.

I'm making my own dictionary with blackjack and hookers. Y'all will rue this thread when this wins a Pulitzer.

what the hell did i stumble upon here

a sync is when 2 or more rockets, are used to explode simultaneously underneath you to give you an increase in speed in the air

a double sync sounds like you just did the same thing twice

a triple sync sounds like you just did the same thing thrice

a quad sync sounds like a four wheeler

a quint sync sounds like quincy and i don't want to think about the next one in line here

a sex sync
