Another year has passed and another great success. So my spotlight this year to appreciate is all the donators that helped pass the all time record of donations this year surpassing $220,000! Of course there are many more to thank but still thanks of all the hard work that goes in every year into this incredible event.

It's amazing how much money was raised. Also jump segment was the best it's ever been. Nick's new movie is the best jump movie made to date imo

Every year, TOTH always puts up a great wholesome production and this year is no different. Shoutouts to all the people who worked on the event for the whole weekend — especially those that had to deal with production.

Amazing work from the entire crew and all the donators!

During the jump map section it was mentioned that they were able to have all the jumpers play on the same server without ping differences. Does anyone know how that was done? It seemed like a pretty big deal that was mentioned but never elaborated on.

They do it with a cross server relay (plugin?) made by AI. It's still very buggy but it does simplify the Toth and beginnings viewing (don't have to bounce around servers) along with making worldwide participation in races possible

Basically u just join one of the servers near u and people from other servers have their inputs done by a bot in ur server. At least that's my limited understanding of it.

Very much doubt it could be used in comp due to its bugginess, but it's honestly a miracle it exists. AI is an amazing person

shoutout to whoever made the Cross Server Relay server plugin. It allowed the jumpers to jump in the same server but they had low ping. It was also awesome to see how these talented jumpers stacked up against each other

One of the few events I watch most of the vods from (due to timezones). Absolutely loved the surfing and jumping content, it was next level as always. The Cross Server Relay was NUTS!! Cant wait to play jump_academy2. Also Harsha was hilarious. Shoutout to everyone who donated and worked hard for the event to happen. Back to you guys!

Would the cross-server relay be usable in 6s? If so, would it be better than just suffering through high ping?
I can't read but wow, what a cool piece of technology. So many cool apps and projects are developed for a niche game like this.

the reason CSR works is that there are no interactions between players in jumping. using it for 6v6 wouldnt make any sense

The most important thing is that you can't really have player interaction with it. You can see other players, but you can't affect them. It's like a ghost racer in Mario Kart. It works well for what it does but it can't be used to work around the laws of physics (ping difference).

Huge thanks to everyone involved. What a weekend.

    I've never been a fortnite fan but watching Tagg (and others) play Fortnite turned out to be the most entertaining part of the stream for me.
  • Everyone involved in Dota Fortress, that was hilarious.
  • Harsha, of course, was amazing. I had never heard of him before this year's stream but he was incredible.

shoutout to loris/space loris/space doggo who puts an incredible amount of effort into this community's events and is a cornerstone of audio production. he not only worked on toth this year, he also runs hugs.tf (another amazing charity effort), and has been a key player in other tf2 events for the past few years. :)

Thank you for all the shoutouts, everybody! It's great to see the people still keeping up with the show supporting us with kind and encouraging words each year, not just for Tip of the Hats but for COSI. Our donors helped break our 2015 record by raising $230,000 this year and in total, we've almost raised 1 million dollars for Camp One Step since TotH's first event in 2013. Donations close on October 20th, I've posted a bit more on the official stickied thread here for anyone interested.

A big shoutout to the staff I worked with both online and offline, particularly to the prod team, social & visual media teams, and art/animation team. Jasbutts, Stevebud, and both Ryans (Krunk & Loris): y'all rock. I love these people I work with and they've all worked so hard, I'm glad to be a part of this production by their side each year they bring me on.

Big, BIG ups to Lange during the power outage on Day 3. I have never seen or experienced anything like that and I am glad I was there as he figured things out and we brought the TotH stream back to life within less than 5 minutes. (Shoutout to Jill for shouting that out in-game too when we brought everything back up.)
