MirelinHey. It’s not like I care about this dead game anyway. But I don’t really want to be banned for something that I didn’t commit. Especially, loosing face in front of the community that I used to spend time with for quite a long time.

Regarding the VAC ban. The VAC ban is from CS:GO. Therefore, the games like TF2, CS:Source, CS 1.6, basically, all games cannot be affected in any way.

I will show you the screenshot when I will be home, but, eh, yeah. It is not nice to ban people before asking what the VAC ban was of. Especially claiming the things that you are not sure of (affecting TF2). Once again, I don’t really care. It’s just all about saving my face, and, well, AC admins, I am pretty sure you don’t want to look incompitent.

iirc they auto ban any account that is VAC'd to save time asking literally every etf2l person who gets banned what their ban was for, saves a bunch of the admins time and if your ban wasn't for tf2 you can always go on irc to get it lifted.

Private profile -> all VAC bans are assumed to be for TF2.
It was for CS:GO so it'll probably be lifted soon.

Because a VAC ban in TF2 means you get banned for a year, a VAC ban in any other game doesnt.

RagorYou would be surprised how this community reacts to cheating - It's really bipolar and confusing.
If some random or lower-level competitive player cheats and receives a VAC ban for any game (even if it's a rare false positive), a vast majority of the time the community flames the fuck out of them and otherwise exiles them. If an Invite/Prem/well-liked player gets VAC banned (either on their main account or an alt account), the community effectively gives them a slap on the wrist. There's like no consistency.

examples?

Which is exactly why our league admins needs to set the standard.

When league admins see a cheater in another game who also plays in their league, it should be an instant ban in our TF2 leagues. All cheaters, regardless of game, should be black listed in every game. I said it one and I will say it again. When you cheat, you are making a conscious decision to install and use a cheat program. There is no other interpretation of that action.

I am/was a huge fan of Mirelin as a player but don't feed us a load of horseshit about "saving face". You got caught and there is no such thing as saving face because you cheated in another game.

Since he has no interest in competitive TF2 anymore, I think the ETF2L admins should make an example of him and just issue a lifetime ban. Maybe it will discourage others from installing cheats in any game they play.

to be fair, a lot of it is about where the people cheated as well (csgo or even pubs as opposed to pugs/scrims/matches)

I don't know half the players on that list, but as long as they didn't get caught cheating in league/competitive play, I don't feel like there's any need to crucify them/exile them out of the community. If you wanna spinbot in csgo pubs, I really couldn't care less. Yeah there could be a thin line between them cheating in matches vs scrims but I think you guys are making this out bigger than it should be.

Straight up idiotic viewpoint. This is almost like saying that running red lights and stop signs is perfectly fine as long as I don't get caught by the police or get in an accident.

Your attitude will make more people want to install and try cheats because of no consequences.

mustardoverlordto be fair, a lot of it is about where the people cheated as well (csgo or even pubs as opposed to pugs/scrims/matches)

such a poor argument, just because someone who isn't a body builder (and isn't in competition, for example) takes steroids doesn't make the offense of cheating less excusable. Its as space cadet said, you made the conscious decision to cheat and to gain an unfair advantage you didn't deserve. As someone who was huge into high level competitive sports the biggest piss off about people who cheat like this is they are basically discrediting the hard work of everyone they are competing against and making it worthless because they decided they didn't care about working hard.

Fuck cheaters, every single one of you. None of them should have been allowed to play in leagues under any circumstance and its embarrassing that so many have been able to.
