GazWhat happened to "innocent until PROVEN guilty"? .

i do agree that cheating evidence should be released in some form, atleast specify in what way they cheated, this stance of "they can learn" is extremely outdated and any paid tf2 cheat will provide you with nearly undetectable features that still provide huge benefits to how you play

but, comparing any procedure etf2l uses to a traditional judicial trial makes no sense, etf2l is not a court or government, they are a private league that recieved 0 funding by the community (other than - recently added - completely optional donations), they can ban who they want, for however long they want, for whatever reason, if you feel that this power is being excessively abused than the communities only choice is to leave the league, but in tf2, that is hardly an option, but etf2l does not "owe" anyone anything

since someone mentioned handcam:
you can cheat with handcam
you can cheat with a camera on your monitor
you can cheat at lan

we are well past the age of "legit" aimbots being visible.
typically when people get caught, they 1. make mistakes and then 2. have their demos checked by someone with the right tools

with that said, if you cheat in pugs/non-official matches you are still incurring the risk of being caught cheating, so why stop there? go do a few hundred pugs while you learn to use it subtly, and then you get a nice alibi of being a grinder to go along with it

As other people have assumed, "they can learn" has nothing to do with whether people code their own cheats or use paid public or private cheats. It has to do with the way they've configured whatever cheat they use, which values they use and which features they've used that caused them to appear on an AC's radar.

And after something like 8 years of being part of the AC staff I can tell you that certain do's and don'ts when it comes to cheating in competitive are still not public knowledge and as long as it is like that, a majority of cheaters will get
busted, simply because AC teams have withheld that specific information.

And to shine more clarity on this subject, ETF2L AC has tested whether or not these things can happen to someone legitimate, by having access to cheats ourselves and finding each quirk of a cheaters config that causes a player to be completely indistinguishable from a legit player.

Jeven is definitely not using aim assist lmfao. I only mentioned this because it disproves the usage of ESP/Walls. Sure legit aimbots are much harder to spot but that's exactly why cheaters hardly use aim assist anymore. The argument for cheaters now is usually walls. If he was using aim assist on soldier it'd be blatant because it is unbelievably easy to tell the difference between legit rocket aim and projectile aimbot. Either way its my bad on the wording I know that aim assist on a low percentage is practically indeterminable to the human eye on hitscan (Thanks Torrit).

I'm not sure about other things such as triggerbot and how the admin tools would work around something like that if the player were to toggle it so it looks like they have their moments or whatever but again that doesn't really apply to the only class that jeven plays in competitive.

To add onto my statement about walls I have learned from a friend that there was a csgo player who paid $1000, and the Indian player (I assume forsaken?) who had walls that couldn't be picked up on a webcam due to the % of the colour. However I don't think anything like this would be likely in team fortress 2 considering it requires a financial motivation. The return you get on tf2 is minimal compared to csgo and the cheating scene in that game is considerably larger. Just rambling again but ye you get the idea.

You can mirror a copy of your game to a separate monitor and only have cheats visible on the monitor no one can see. A webcam pointing at a monitor only proves that a cheater can afford another monitor.

kindred why would anyone wallhack? you can do that with an aimbot + you can do that at lan

You are an idiot. Wallhacks are far less obvious and much easier to hide than an aimbot. Wallhacks also have a much greater impact due to the effect they have on your play. If you have Okay Aim your aim will immediately transcend a few levels if you have wallhacks due to being able to know where people are on the map before they know where you are. This gives you more time to think about how you will approach a situation and gives you a major advantage. Aimbotting also gives you a much bigger advantage but at the risk of being far more obvious and easier to detect. If you learn to play with walls in a way that looks like "Just Gamesense" you appear legit, I'm sure there are plenty of players who have gotten / are getting away with it.

I mentioned the same b4 and I agree. Still, this court argument is stupid. Of course you're not going to suffer consequences in real life because you cheated in TF2 but this comparison doesn't make sense anyway because you limit this ban solely to ETF2L. You have to consider that this ban has consequences for his reputation outside of ETF2L because other "Organizations" will most likely mirror the ban and some of them might not even have more insight than we do. I'm just gonna assume Rahmed banned him from Rahmixes and with that I'm also gonna assume that he doesn't really know more than we do, at best he knows the type of cheat maybe. It is Rahmeds good right to do what he wants, but essentially if my assumption is correct it just means that Jeven is getting barred from (relevant) EU TF2 because ETF2L said he cheats but nobody outside of the admin team actually knows anything.

Again, I don't want to devalue the AC teams work but it feels very hard to believe that this ban is legit while theres a guy, with a 2 year old VAC ban, running around in the same div switching to sniper in the map-deciding fight of product and instantly hitting two shots on fast moving targets (against one of the best EU teams ever btw). If you know who I'm talking about you most likely also think that person is cheating.

This is the first informative response to that argument I've seen, thank you, I would suggest it would be useful to make this more in depth explanation more public, than just "cheaters can learn"

GazExpecting evidence is rigorous?
I'm sorry but you are gonna be the first person I'm gonna call stupid in a discussion

I meant the stakes in a video game cheating case isn't the same as the court system of a country falsely accusing somoene of murder. The severity of both the acts and the punishments aren't comparable. And no, in many cases when you break lesser laws you in fact do get the punishment before (i.e. parking tickets) and you appeal them afterward. (Just like VAC bans from etf2l, you could get unbanned if you could prove they weren't from tf2)

Admins don't do false bans, they use evidence. To honestly believe that they should just publish evidence, analysis methods, and tools you have to also believe no AC admin, AC trial admin, league admin or head admin has ever seen this kind of false banning as a problem and that admins get together like a cabal to decide who gets banned next. What matters more than your personal pride (it's a video game) is the effect of allowing people to cheat because "he aint the type to do it", "he put in work", "he cared about the game", or "b-but he's my friend :("
