Makes me wish every single competitive map made wasn't alpine themed.
bill_imagine the low fps on snow process middle...
Honestly if it was on a modern engine and could actually use the GPU and more than 3 cores these kinds of effects would be relatively easy to implement without a murderous FPS hit. The problem is Source is a 14 year old engine based on a 21 year old engine that based on a 23 year old game engine and suffers from pretty much the same issues as Bethesda's creation engine when utilizing modern hardware. TF2 can't even get my Vega 56 to boost to full clocks while utilizing like 13% of my CPU.

Cyanic_KermitYo this was nuts, any chance you guys would be willing to upload the map files?
Thanks man. Its up to Mould and Hyce if they want to release their own maps, but none of the maps created for this video are in a state that's even close to playable. This is mostly due to having to decompile and recompile the maps to edit them, which breaks things like collision and triggers (so shutters don't open, you can't cap points etc). Its also very likely that the skyboxes would be wrong or missing if used in game, at least on my maps. Finally, none of these maps are optimised so they would probably tank your fps.
Despite all this, if there's enough interest I'd be happy to at least release the VMFs for my maps so that if someone wanted to fix them they could, although as I said its up to Mould and Hyce for their maps.
don't care if they're playable, just want to load them up and look at them

imagine how cool it would be to be able to transfer player's movements from a match onto the new maps and cast with those. It'd never happen but it'd be so cool
there are so many shots that could make perfect posters, excellent composition. amazing job :D
RebiteIt'd never happen but it'd be so cool
its possible with demos

Can we get someone to implement these reskins as real maps and play at least some of them in the league? I'm getting super sick of the product aesthetic. I didn't like it when it was new let alone now that more than 1/2 the maps look like that.
scary snakewater and jungle gullywash when? but in all seriousness, this is an extraordinary video. i loved how terrifying the second point on snakewater was and i love the precise detail on the walls in middle gullywash! great job for everyone!
This is it.
This is the next level of TF2 editing.
God-tier work from everyone involved here.
I'm also going to echo comments others have made and say that this is exactly how I imagine a TF2 remake or sequel looking visually.

Holy crap dude, this turned out insanely well. Incredible job, glad I could help.
