smissmas updates havent been substantial for years i dont know why people expect anything else

At the very least they could have given us holiday contracts with a sort of reward to give us some incentive to play the update. It's almost like they're just trying to milk as much money out of the casual playerbase as they can while ghosting the ones who actually care about balance before abandoning the game once and for all.

updating a map as aged as snakewater is a thankless job, ty chojje, time to buy another map stamp for snake >:)

I took their language to mean that they reserve the right to release a Heavy update in the future, and that just because Heavy lost doesn't mean they will never ever update Heavy again. But other people took it to mean that they were confirmed the Heavy update coming after the Pyro update, which I don't think is valid.

there is no tf team

The TF2 youtubers need the heavy update, they'll have billions of times to say pootis once it comes and make thousands

If you were one of 2 developers working on a game that was released 10 years ago and probably still contains code from when development started 10 years before that, now working in an outdated version of an outdated engine, you'd probably take a real long time to get anything done, too.
This isn't exactly the CS or Dota team. It's a Christmas miracle TF2 wasn't shuttered 3-4 years ago (not because it's a failed product, it's still one of the most popular on steam, but it has almost no dev team). I would be content playing the game if they never released another major update. As long as they're fixing bugs, I'm fine.
