ToorutobiasTooruthis charged response pretty much confirms what i've already been suspecting. you only interact with this scene when it benefits you when you make your youtube videos, but then all of a sudden it's a disgusting scene that churns out pedos and covers for each other. it's clear you want this to be something more than it actually is, but in reality like wish said these are all just a bunch of isolated incidents.

its funny how you "have everything to lose and nothing to gain" but in the same breath you are asking people to like, share, comment, and subscribe. you presented no new information! all you did was copy paste some shit from tf.tv and spend like 7 bucks to get plaidinum's court docs, that again pretty much told us nothing

Yeah I’m mad because I was hoping I could say this place isn’t as bad as I thought, clearly I was wrong. I’m mad because I love the scene, watch the actual video. I have merch, watch almost every playoff match, went to a lan when I didn’t have to fly? played in seasons, and made it my job. I censored parts the video so it could reach as many people as possible and not get age restricted. Predictably, it’s already partially demonetized, tf2 already makes nothing off ads, so even if it gets an million views I’ll at most get laeound $500 for working on this full time for 3 weeks, I didn’t put a sponsor, and I tell people not to subscribe because I don’t want to make this kind of content. I did this to bring attention to outsiders about this horrible scene, it wasn’t for you or other players. Go back to your pedo pugs chomo.

Get a job and start anew dude you can still be a human it's not too late

This video did not need to be 46 minutes long, a clickbaity/sensational title, voice acting recreation of horrific acts of csam, or spooky music to bring awareness to the issue of predators lurking in an online, niche community.

TF2 is a small community, so CSAM and sexual harassment cases are a lot more prominent. To label the competitive community as a "pedo ring" is incredibly dishonest and misleading! And yes, EVERY WORD MATTERS. You cannot virtue signal "really, the title is all you care about?" with sensitive matters like these. When you want to bring awareness or create a video "for documentation purposes only", you need think carefully about your language or remain neutral if it's truly only for documentation! Don't make such bold and dangerous claims that groups an entire community with a small set of players. Especially when that very community stands up against RGL's decision making.

You also do not need to share or re-create explicit details of the csam cases AT ALL. If you want to teach people how to spot grooming, manipulation, and "ground-testing" strategies predators use, then point people towards the appropriate resources of legitimate organizations that are trained in prevention and trauma response. The recreations were deeply disturbing and served primarily as morbid curiosity than actual learning examples. You were almost there by highlighting how some predators move conversations to 1-on-1 conversations, you could have expanded by giving general examples on how it progresses instead of the direct evidence. This is really no better than the reddit detectives who are in it for the thrill of the investigation rather than actual concern for the victims.

The video had good intentions but it lacked nuance or the proper sensitivity needed to address such an issue. The way you are responding to criticism is also very telling of virtue signaling rather than actual awareness.

The community is deeply disturbed by these cases and the decision making RGL makes, but this approach was horrible. The community action at the end should have been the focus of the entire video because at this point, it is up to us to force RGL to change. Disturbing people will always be around on the internet, unfortunately, but we do not need to know the details of their depravity. The focus should be on protecting vulnerable people, setting up preventions, and keeping predators away from them---not sensationalizing and detailing their horrible acts!

i just think this video does more harm than good considering this is probably going to be the average comment from his viewerbase. its not like any of this information isn't already readily available if you do a little digging. and yeah obviously the ban reasons rgl gives sucks dick but it's just them not trying to make themselves get sued for libel.

you are braindead, "doing good" is keeping underage players out of this disgusting scene, "doing harm" is keeping them unaware. damn near nobody goes through the archives of a game, almost 10 years back to see if there's any preds. The world doesn't revolve around TF2's competitive scene, you have it ass backwards, nuke this cancer.

Predators exist outside of the competitive scene---they are incredibly common in the casual community as well! Doing good would be making an informative video on how to spot, prevent, and get support from trusted figures of authority to deal with predators as a vulnerable person on the internet. You can spread awareness without all the graphic details, point people towards the right resources, and NOT fear monger about what is a relatively neutral gaming community.

a bit disingenuous to imply yourself an insider when you have 4 seasons played with a 3 year ban sitting on your account.
also a bit fucked up to get people to voice act victims of this over the top of some shitty spooky copyright free music.

painting a small subset of players as a pedo ring when all of these are their own isolated cases different from the last is also something else.

My guy you can't make a fucking disgusting video like this which is more about the shock value and not the actual crimes and then voice act (in a super weird sexual voice I might add) the messages between these degens and expect anyone but 15 year olds on youtube to take you seriously like you aren't doing this for algo farm like come on get real.

Then throwing the community under the bus here like "everyone that plays comp is a pedo" is such a TMZ move it shows people exactly what you are after and how little you actually know. "I'm not doing this because of the money NO NO NO, its the children I want to protect".

If this was the case you would have actually made the video to reflect this and not just talk about in the last 10 seconds of a 45min video with you sitting on the beach like you've actually accomplished anything by then end.

i like the part of the video where for some reason you take time out of this extremely serious topic to tell me the origins of why highlander is called that because of the movie

siyofor a scene so small we do a pretty good job as a community outing bad actors when it happens. sensationalizing it undermines the positives in how the broader community reacted in every situation. for that i get the intentions of the video but it’s quite disappointing and paints a lot of confirmation bias given how being such a small community amplifies these kinda scenarios. having watched the majority of the video it’s quite sad to see

I'm not going to weigh in on any pedo accusations/confirmations/drama/whatever but one thing I want to bring up is that there have been many problematic people in this scene in the past, and one argument that was posited towards letting them stay in the scene was that without them, comp TF2 would be nothing and would not continue. I'm not going to name names but those who know can probably guess who I'm referring to.

Well, here we are in 2026 and the scene has survived without them. In fact I'd argue given the dead state of game development it's honestly remarkably thrived. The folks who have stuck around and the newcomers that have shown up are doing a way, WAY better job than the ones we kicked out in the past. I've never been more thankful to be a part of, and more proud to be a witness to, that success.
