8k-10k prize pool
maybe a fall LAN???
"We expect to use a whitelist similar to ESEA. The map list is expected to be close as well."
cow mangler will likely be banned

thoughts?
i know sigafoo catches a lot of shit from TFTV but it appears as though he is willing to appeal to us over in the ESEA crowd.

from sigafoo's point of view it makes sense to attempt to gain some form of control over the 6s playerbase in order to slowly change the ruleset into something that matches his ideals, so of course he's going to begin by offering the established rules.

That's great news, if sigafoo tries to change the ruleset to something people don't want you can just leave lol it's a non-issue.

yes when there’s no other option because everyone’s gone to rgl for what he’s promising and all the other leagues are dead

Then you would just be back to square one? ESA currently is intended to be a free league, and now you have someone offering to organize a league with an 8k-10k prize pool and LAN. I'm not NA but I can't imagine you guys getting a better offer than this, even if it's from Sigafoo.

AnaThonHonestly the only thing that's keeping me on the fence about this is the whole "salary cap rule" which they used to break up froyo in 7v7. If RGL adressed it and made sure stupid things like that won't happen again I'd be all for this.

I agree getting some promises from Sigafoo would be a good idea.

just a reminder that sigafoo has little to no direct involvement in RGL HL letting exa run that b/c he doesnt really care for hl anymore. as he cares even less about 6s than hl it is resonable to assume that sigafoos involvement will be very little compared to a main 6s admin

It's still not worth the risk of maybe, possibly, him changing his mind later on and imposing rules that don't make sense. Or him literally banning Froyotech for being too good. Or what if he picks a bad league admin, completely by accident, simply because he's uninvolved in the 6s community? We need to (and are lucky enough to be able to!) move to a league run by people who have actually demonstrated interest in the game they're providing. TFCL and especially UGC have notable histories at this point, at the very least proving that they can provide games weekly. Whether people trust them enough to pay into a prizepool is something else, but unless you're b4nny that shouldn't be your primary concern yet.

Edit to say i have nothing against sigafoo as a person. I dont like how hes run his league, and i dont think someone who doesnt like 6s should have the power to have the final say in what goes in it. We deal with enough of that from valve

I can’t help but feel like sigafoo would be tempted to influence the league if it becomes the main league in NA, what primarily comes to mind is unbanning certain unlocks and adding new maps against the community’s wishes.
However the risk is probably worth it for the prize pool and lan playoffs

u guys have such a massive hate boner for sigafoo LOL

In my exp, having played several seasons of rgl formats, he has run the league in a perfectly satisfactory manner bar a few exceptions.

The idea that he would "lure" in 6s players is honestly just retarded lol.

Trying to be unbiased as possible RGL is the best option of the currently existing NA leagues.

I honestly believe Sigafoo would leave the "traditional" 6s league alone without pushing the main part of the rule set. The only rule I can think of Sigafoo pushing for is the 3 min delay for Streamers who're playing in a RGL Casted Match. Provided there was plenty of Admins. If their are few enough admins to the point Sigafoo steps in to do some of that work we might see some changes creep in.

That being said IF Sigafoo was to start pushing his ideas and/or being admin at "Invite Illuminati" meeting, at the very least everyone can be sure that b4nny's opinion is going to be weighed the same or possibly less than other Invite players.

I didn't imply that it was bad. Read my quote carefully. I do however believe that there is a possibility sigafoo can use this as a platform to employ his ideas in the future which is something I would personally not enjoy.

AnaThonlmfao u guys do realise that if this dumbass conspiracy is real you can just switch to another one of the 8 leagues that are gonna be made after esea dies right?

Whatever league wins the initial rush will probably be the only league. Changing leagues will only serve to fragment the player base.

And ESEA addressed the bitcoin mining issue 6 years ago. Doesn't change the fact that it should not have happened in the first place, and people still dont fully trust the company because of that. Same shit with RGL, it should not have happened in the first place and the fact that it did will always be a black mark on the record.

If we can't have a global whitelist can we at least have standard global division names.
Also please give badges and give out awards at the end of the season.

hamahamlucrativehow much has sigafoo paid you and b4nny huh?

not sure why this is warranted, I was merely replying to the fact that unless some testimonials are provided from teams that permanently quit playing esea because of bitcoins i'm not really going to buy into that argument. Never been a fan of bandwagon mentality doesn't matter what its about and the sigafoo hate train is getting really old.

You can look back on this comment when everyone giving sigafoo and RGL shit right now are all going to be playing in that league if it ends up offering 10k and a LAN, if that becomes a reality and you don't play it then you're just spiteful and nothing else.

Sigafoo already said that he would trust the league to be ran by other people, he's just being the provider. Just like he does for highlander.

lucrativeYou realize he addressed the “salary cap” ruling against froyo a while back and removed it lol froyo has been allowed to compete with a full roster for a while now

This is false. For further clarification the salary cap was only for 7v7.

How come all the prospective leagues aren’t working together to make one? For example working with ESL? Unless I’m mistaken and that’s already happening. Regardless of which league is best, by far the most important aspect to the level of competition and many players not quitting tf2 after this season is a similar or better prize pot to ESEA. LAN would instantly help and I highly doubt many top level players would quit, if they weren’t going to already, if there were a LAN with a prize pot. Ensuring that these two things happen is priority imo and hopefully other leagues are willing to give their resources to make that happen as one

Edit: should probs posted this in the othER THread
