smzino classlimits and all that pretty sure we have been there about 11 years ago or so and already realised how awful it is but surely this time it will be a whole different story

might aswell bring back random crits and fund maps like 2fort or ctf_well they were loved in the comp scene aswell

I'd play that

WandumWandumbecause the game being "interesting" to watch is more important than fun to play?

Just because you might not like it does not mean nobody will like it. Sigafoo has done some research. His prolander concept seems to have some form of audience. This 6s concept seems to have one too, even if it does not cater to the main tftv "we're true tf2 diehard promod 6s double airshot players" audience.

sigafooValve has shown themselves to work with the comp community through adding a comp matchmaking into the game. Changing the system to have placement matches and most importantly balancing weapons seemingly with the focus of Comp in mind.

haha yeah it was really cool when they left it in beta for 6 months and made no tangible changes prior to the "release" despite a mountain of feedback regarding placement matches, graphics settings, etc. really cool to launch into matchmaking and go from a stable 200 fps to fluctuating between 40 and 80! really cool that it took them a week after mym to fix zoom_sensitivity_ratio being disallowed in comp despite knowing it was an issue throughout the beta! really cool they ignored all the feedback they got in favour of making 0 changes and releasing it in the same state they released the beta in!

hey yeah, cool, placement matches! 20 months after the release and more than 2 years after the start of the beta, when they were told they need placement matches! they added those a year ago next month, for anybody keeping track. that means that by the end of the year we might have one more minor improvement to the dead gamemode that nobody wants to play because valve has consistently failed to address the many underlying issues with it! really cool, can't wait!

sigafooThey've made strides to help out the comp community, but we as a community haven't done anything but dismiss them.

gosh, i wonder why! that's really weird! that we'd ignore a dev that does so much! for us! and always addresses the problems we bring up! they're so good! to us! it's crazy that we'd be dismissive of them!

There is no time limit. Win the game, or your not getting out of there alive. The choice is yours.

In CSGO, pros complained about the ability to track enemies through smoke on the radar, and though the general majority was against it, the devs understood that they should defer to the pros because they know more about game balance. Within 24 hours of a prominent player voicing his opinion, they introduced a patch to change a mechanic that's been in the game since 2012.

As for RGL, while I do think testing out broken shit can give feedback on what must be tweaked, I don't believe any amount of tweaking will let 6 pyros vs 6 snipers ever be competitively viable. I think the rules of the game should be changed to adapt to our consideration.

The difference is that the CSGO community probably doesn't play a heavily modded version of that game that removed it in the fist place. As for 6 pyros vs 6, the reality of the situation is that probably nobody will be running meme starts past the second week since everyone will have it out of their systems by then, and go back to playing 1 Scout, 2 Demos, 2 Medics, +1 Demo/Scout/Soldeir/Heavy.

A cargo cult is a belief system among members of a relatively undeveloped society in which adherents practice superstitious rituals hoping to bring modern goods supplied by a more technologically advanced society.
Cargo cults often develop during a combination of crises. Under conditions of social stress, such a movement may form under the leadership of a charismatic figure. This leader may have a "vision" (or "myth-dream") of the future, often linked to an ancestral efficacy ("mana") thought to be recoverable by a return to traditional morality. This leader may characterize the present state as a dismantling of the old social order, meaning that social hierarchy and ego boundaries have been broken down.

jill was never spoken to about the league by the way

sigafooWell the goal of this, is not to prove that this format is amazingly fun. The goal of this is to get as much real feedback as possible to give to Valve to help bring the comp community and Valve closer together.

Should be the final update prior to the start of the pilot league. We are extending registration by about one week. Registration will now end on Friday, March 8th.

We've had over 115 teams created in the last 2.5 weeks! While this is an amazing level of interest. It also creates more work for us behind the scenes. We've brought on more admins and are currently getting caught up on vetting all of the teams.

----

We've also hit our first stretch goal in Invite of six teams. So Invite's Prizepool is now $1,800 (paying out to top 4.)

If we get two more teams to Invite, the prize pool will grow to $2,500 (paying out top 5.)

Separate from this, ALL TEAMS are eligible for the bounty system being sponsored by b4nny. Every team has a chance to win up to 18 keys. You can read more about that here.

We are also working on a in-game badge that players will recieve.

----

You can register at @ http://MM.RGL.gg

If you are looking for players or looking for a team to join you can join our discord and post in the (LFT) #na-mm-looking-for-team and (LFP) #na-mm-teams-looking-for-players channels.

I can't speak for invite players, but I'd rather practice what I enjoy than spend hours trying to develop a gimmick strat for a gamemode that is not enjoyable and probably won't last.

Beating b4nny in this gamemode might be a novelty, but it's pretty empty in my opinion

DiscordI'd rather practice what I enjoy

but why? so they can fight for second place in ESEA? I don't buy that players at the top level of a video game don't care about winning; they obviously do, else they wouldn't be so skilled. If you want to win against banny ever, this may just be your last chance, before the meta fully developed and anything is possible. It's really a shame to see the rgl invite division filled with mostly IM players and a handful of invite players. If players from ascent mnt and meat$ step up and create a superteam and develop some genius strat they very well could take first place

Come on dude, you KNOW that's not true. It would 100% be the highlight of any tf2 player's career to beat froyotech with their main roster

ward3d If you want to win against banny ever, this may just be your last chance, before the meta fully developed and anything is possible.

That's a flawed statement. Froyotech may dominate but the chance to beat them presents itself every season that the team is active. Don't pretend as though removing all restrictions is the only way to achieve that. It may be incredibly difficult and require immense amounts of work, but is by no means unobtainable outside of this league.

You're also very bold in assuming that Valve is going to do anything with the results of said league when literally all evidence points to the opposite being the case.

We shall see.

I never implied that valve would do anything with the results of league, i was purely speaking from a "this is your only chance to beat b4nny" standpoint, I don't know where you got that. If you thought that's what i meant by "developing the meta" i was referring to things like optimal teamcomps and such, developed by players with the current game. And unfortunately I do believe that it's very unlikely that an NA team will beat froyotech ever, save a season20 scenario where they stop practicing and have a player leave mid game. It's undoubtedly more likely that a team will beat froyo in rgl than in the standard 6s format

"I beat b4nny/foryotech in RGL" A league which hasn't even been around for a season? And has no class limits, with no stable meta doesn't carry the same weight as
"I beat b4nny in ESEA-I" A league which has been around for 30 seasons? Of which b4nny has won the majority of.

You're point of that this may be your only chance to beat b4nny is mute. Beating Froyo in RGL does not equate to beating froyo in ESEA.
