The Insomnia Gaming Festival has remained a long-standing tradition within competitive Team Fortress 2, with the prolific annual series touted as the "World Cup of TF2". With the summer season forthcoming, Insomnia has announced the upcoming tournaments for the upcoming iteration of Insomnia, with Team Fortress 2 included.

Insomnia 63 will take place August 24th to the 27th and will feature a £7,500 base prize pool, which can be expected to increase with additional sponsors. The i63 BYOC Open tournament will feature up to 128 teams fighting for a chance to qualify for the Main Event. The Main Event will feature Invited teams and qualified teams, with the Grand Finals likely to be showcased on the stage similar to last year.

More information will be available on Insomnia's website in the near future.

Out of curiosity, what are the logistics of BYOC from another continent? How does one usually do it?

BilbertOut of curiosity, what are the logistics of BYOC from another continent? How does one usually do it?

People usually rent computers if coming international, especially NA. As far as I'm aware there's different pcs and packages with varying prices. The highest priced one usually has 144hz monitors. You can rent everything, such as a pc, monitor keyboard and mousepad.
Last year you showed up to LAN, signed in, went into the BYOC hall and there's where the rental stand was. You'd go and show them your ticket/receipt etc and they'd give you the package you paid for.
Last year's: https://forums.multiplay.com/insomnia61/105519-pc-rental-spec-sheet-pricing

Be warned, last year there was a big fuss over monitors in that some people bought the cheaper system with the idea of getting a 144hz monitor and turned out that wasn't the case and were given a 60hz monitor.

so £7500 spread across top 4 finishers? So it'd be like what? £6k for winners? It's probably enough for a EU team to make a small profit out of the win, isnt it?

I did a quick search and it looks like the prize pool is up 150% from last year's $5000, maybe some NA teams will be able to go now. More than double swelan's ~$3.6k prize pool as well...

Streep36Is there any chance the pricepool might grow if there are more sponsors showing up?

"and will feature a £7,500 base prize pool, which can be expected to increase with additional sponsors."

Are there any spectator tickets left?

I only ask because I have no idea which tickets include access to which areas, because I’ve never been before, not just out of laziness.

This could be my first LAN if so!
