ETF2L Admin Inconsistency: Episode Two

Hello, it is Me again, here with another episode on questionable decisions by the ETF2L Admin Team

https://puu.sh/A5o8C/18bc8e9ae6.png

https://puu.sh/A5obs/707fb3434c.png

The meaning of the word "Repeal"

As you can see from exhibit 1, the admin team clearly states that this major warning cannot be repealed, which I have provided a link for where you can see what this word means if you are not well versed in english.

Exhibit 2 showcases the lack of this Major Warning though, even though it was applied before and apparently cannot be repealed.

I wasn't going to make a thread about this at first, since when I first noticed the lack of a warning, I contacted the admins and they placed the warning back. However, it has mysteriously disappeared again. Just because you are the leading team does not mean you should be exempt from the rules!

Some interesting side notes:

Major and Minor warnings deduct from prize winnings if acquired during the playoffs.

The Essentials.TF April Monthly for EU remains unfinished after their admin team took back their decision to default the finals (after giving the okay for it prior).

Thaigrr still remains unbanned after not having submitted demos 3 times in a row an entire month ago.

The grand finals date was supposed to originally be on the 1st of april, and it was delayed to be at the 8th at latest. At the time of writing, it is the 18th in all of Europe. I wonder which team is behind this? Tune in next time to find out.

Episode 3 : The season 29 joke, 4 newly formed teams that goes to prem in a format which allows 4 out of 6 teams, nunya and se7en which apparently don't have to make premiership qualifiers (even if nunya finished 7th last season), The bugs EU, LEGO and Lowpander that should not even be in other divisions than prem with the same roster (and do not dare even talk about "lol we're offclass" because a prem player whatever class he's playing is a prem player, as mentionned in ETF2L Rule 3.6 which doesn't mention classes at all. But hey it is written "that joined after the Provisional Tiers were published." so let's make a team of admins and put us below our level because "it's for fun lol, we're not tryharding we're offclassing".

You'd be adorable to make this episode !
PS : I'm still sending applications to be league admin, I may be childish in my head, but you're childish in your work, so i still think i can help

I mean, the lower bracket semifinals were played 18 days after round 1 so probably the Germans or Omni5 EU, right?

FUCKALO SHIT[ as he was better known

Also just to address Olgha saying LEGO were sandbagging here are the scores of our maps in playoffs (after not even finishing 1st in our division). 4-3, 2-4, 4-2, 3-1, 3-1, 3-2, 4-3. That's not sandbagging, it's just called winning.

So it's a team newly formed and should play the premiership qualifiers, but putting them into prem because they're nunya makes absolutely no sense

I'm just talking about the fact that you asked to go div2 through an invaluable reason called "offclass" and no matter what scores you did, the fact that you, at the end, win. It shows that it's unfair for other teams that are trying to get better because you do always have the control on the game, since at any moment, you can outsmart them as a team, because of your experience. I'm not asking you to only play prem, i'm asking you to not make stack of people very experienced not taking games seriously since they're winning, otherwise just pound them and retake the lead. If you want to play in lower divisions, do it in a good and wise way : split your team in 3 and try to coach new players to get better, that would balance the skill of your team with the other teams.

Those are the logs from map 2 and 3. LEGO won first map.
The map in question was also forced to be replayed via admin discretion. Perm's point still holds.

I don't know what fantasy world you live in, but at no point were we able to simply click some magical Premiership Strats button and automatically gain the lead again.

You're pointing out the map we were forced to replay, it doesn't mean anything in terms of the actual scores registered throughout playoffs. Not going to try and defend what happened that map but it was replayed so it's essentially void.

My point is that we could have quite easily have lost any of our matches in playoffs, especially the final.

So first, One of you clearly said that you were playing for fun, but thing is that your "fun" level is the level of the division itself, am i right ? Let's say you're losing, you just need to focus a bit, because your "try-hard" level is above the level of the division. Seems cool to play fun, seems not when you're a legitimate team trying to improve in division 2

frenzy_Hildreth admin when?

Been there, done that.

Most people here don't understand what it is to be an admin, time demands being the single biggest factor required. I won't defend inconsistencies but the issue with ETF2L as a website is the best people for the role are the ones willing to give their time up for it, which varies in the quality of admin you get as hard working does not always = good, but not working always = bad. This is best relaid by this quote from DJwheat that exists on the ETF2L Staff page (http://etf2l.org/etf2l/staff/) to gain an understanding of this culture.

Admin teams have a culture, like with any environment whether it is team or work-based (evidence suggests half the TFTV community have a lack of understanding of this and some veterans of the game as well) and the culture is set from the top down, if there are inconsistencies, lack of strength in leadership and issues that simply aren't being addressed (or are not appearing to be addressed) then it's a fault stemming from the Head Admins at the base that has not flowed downwards to how the website is run. It's been an ongoing issue for many years.

Like I said though - people who are average in their work but work hard and volunteer their time are always better candidates than better quality people who aren't putting the effort in. As an individual I fail to accept mediocrity when I get my wallet out and pay for something but if I am not doing it, it doesn't annoy me as much.

Best solution for the admin team is to address these issues, they're legitimate concerns (though I believe one of them referenced by Muuki is from Essentials not ETF2L) because it sets a precedent that you can't trust there will be fair competition and especially if concerns come from a Premiership player who can have influence in their views.

Rules are in place for a reason, to some when a controversial decision is taken it may upset them and has done in the past (say the Buffalo Bill situation, punishment was harsh but the rules are clear about zero tolerance to abusing admins) but if you use them as a reference point and improve parts of the rules that aren't clearly defined properly for "next time" you learn from your mistakes, you improve the league but the most important thing to do when applying the rules is to be consistent, always. Lack of consistency seeping into the league is very concerning lately.
