Tbh I wanted more (although they have said comp changes are coming)but I'm just grateful they still do updates like this and am looking forward to playing it.

Love the game and hopefully they've made it even better.

roachlol u guys are hella ungrateful

be happy u even got a fuckign update.. haha seriously devs read the shit u post. If I was a tf2 dev I would be more inclined to go work on something else than rigorously produce updates for u fucks to throw it back in their face n say it's shit

Honestly they should just move onto Dota with feed back like what's in this thread. It's a sad day when reddit is less toxic than tf.tv

Reddit is happy because they got updates for the shitty pyro, tf.tv is sad because comp got neglected. Two different target audiences.

it_is_crownAs a Medic main, Im interested if vita saw will be viable and will be allowed

I mean, you can get a saw and have 25% uber right now that might put you over the top

or you can get a saw, die and save 15% uber per swipe that you might not even have

I guess the latter is preferable if you keep dying in post-uber fights, but otherwise I'm not seeing the appeal (unless organs somehow carry over through deaths?)

matchmaking is 18 month old code, that excuse is meaningless

It's not fucking edgy to be disappointed by an update that took 18 months to release with about 3ish months worth of content from any mid-sized developer. You're a fucking moron if you think you can cry about your fanbase being disappointed when you're sitting there getting 90% of your new content by utilizing community maps and cosmetics, not even making them in house. Tf2 updates used to be fucking great for the first 3-4 years of the game, you'd get something decent every 6-8 months at least. This update was hyped up to be a serious game changer, and valve couldn't even live up to the promise of helping out their most dedicated fanbase (competitive matchmaking) after a year and a fucking half. Go the fuck back to reddit if you can't handle people being upset when their favorite game is being ruined by awful devs. And holy fuck this roach guy, "rigorously producing updates" give me a fucking break man

To be honest, they could see huge returns by putting a few people on the tf2 staff who know what they're doing and cutting the interns who would be better off making free mobile phone games. But alas, gabe newell needs to eat his daily gold-plated truffle cake so we'll continue to have incompetent fucks behind one of the greatest games ever made

This but to be fair most of the stuff they did do was good. I think it's the first time I've ever looked at an update's patch notes and not immediately thought 'holy shit at least half of these changes are terrible'. They even ditched the amby rng idea they put out in the blogpost. Some of the new weapons are probably going to be aids but that's par for the course for pyro.

I'm still hella upset but even when I looked at the notes this morning I was pretty happy with what was with there. The only issue I have is what wasn't. These changes + matchmaking (and more balance changes in the same vein in the future) have the potential to revive tf2, it's just going to take another ten years at this rate by which point pc gaming will be dead and vr dota will kill the game instead.

You're acting as if they don't get paid for it. It took them a year to put out a mediocre update stuffed with community made content. They said it will be size of 2-3 major updates, but it' clearly fucking not.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the mantreads change? I think it's wrong to mess with the core physics of the game. Also hitting an airshot on a player that has them will be pure luck. It's something that you'd see in a silly community pub not in the official game.

Calling them incompetent in the context of their product (TF2) is not really the same as a personal insult that has nothing to do with the topic. They're putting out mostly garbage with a little bit of okay content while the community does a lot of heavy lifting with maps, items etc. and it's taking them way longer than it should as well.

Any company that is creating a product people are putting money and time into is going to told they're incompetent if they produce way less than their pay and time spent should produce and especially if they neglect some massive things the community has been ranting and raving about for ages. Valve is not a tiny little indie studio making zero money off of their time, they are paid well and they have all the information they need.
