SideshowrandoCan we play?
Yes, but unfortunately I couldn't think of a good way to make it international so you'll have to play on EU servers and qualify through the open tournament first.

Pretty sure ma3la on 150 ping is still better than any EU solly. If Ronin or Froyo wanna come I'm sure tonnes of people will be more than happy to donate

You may not have made roamer of the season, but you make all the plays that count, Sideshow.

SideshowTFCups have already given me the money for their half of the sponsorship, the guy behind it wanted to donate anonymously. No issues at all with legitimacy, don't worry.

Thats great news. Just wondering whats the point of the tfcups org then, I assume it will serve as a launchpad for future tf2 tournaments when the games starts to take off a bit more with matchmaking but then it will render that anonymity useless.

Hoping for some great games and many more future tournament sponsorships nonetheless. TF2 is as alive as it ever was.

If Americans are going to compete and IF 1 NA team wins, it's their full responsibility to pay for themselves, else what's the point of trying to qualify if in the end you will have to rely on other people's money?

Might be worth mentioning the date of the actual DHS lan in the OP which is 18th-21st of June which is sick because my exams finish that week, although I might have one on the 18th which would kill actually going.

KanecoThats great news. Just wondering whats the point of the tfcups org then, I assume it will serve as a launchpad for future tf2 tournaments when the games starts to take off a bit more with matchmaking but then it will render that anonymity useless.

The guy behind TFCups is an avid comp spectator that doesn't have the time to play much himself but loves the game and wants the scene to grow. I expect TF2Cups to be a useful, independent service at some point but it does seem early to be advertising the brand from a business perspective. It's a great time for sponsorships/tournaments to build hype for comp tf2 however and he's honestly that keen.

His choice of anonymity isn't anything sinister. He's not the type to seek personal praise and probably prefers his platform to garner any attention at this point.

Worth noting I am in no way affiliated with TFCups. I just give its founder the occasional dicking on badlands spire.

My only concern is that this logo was rejected:

To make this LAN the best spectacle it can be, maybe?

people won't donate 10k again like one month after to get teams to insomnia tho, which is probably going to feature Aus(?) or other international teams again instead of a 4 team invite tourney and is worth donating for much more.
Theres no need to make every lan we have international with 5 fundraisers and all that jazz, if na teams want to come to eu lans thats awesome, but don't let the community send them 3 times a year for a ridiculous sum of money.

Please don't make a fundraiser to go to dhs... It will impede on the fundraisers for i58 which is a much more prioritised event.

I agree with this for this year but there's no reason iseries has to be the biggest event going. In some ways it's good to have competition between lans because there will be more incentive for sponsors to offer higher prizepools to make their lan the important/prioritised one. I'll take what we can get at this stage but if TF2 gets bigger iSeries really isn't a big deal as lans go and Dreamhack is probably a bigger name in terms of making the game look legitimate.

I think if the best NA team wants to go, they should get an automatic invite to Dreamhack along with the best EU team. See it as a waste of time for them to qualify when the only other participant I see is a team named Bantermory.

If we become big we won't be needing fundraisers to go LAN at all, because it would all be funded by winning tournaments online, and it would also be a more valuable investment for orgs/sponsors to provide LAN support for teams.

Please everyone sign up to this tournament, only one sign-up so far!

I would expect all the prem teams and top high teams to sign up at the very least, as they have a great chance at getting into the top 8 and proving themselves for the next cup even if they don't win.
