MLG Columbus was apparently an AMAZING event for dota 2, if they could even do a fraction of that for tf2 it would be amazing.

It's been around for a long time, too. Best bet if they listen, which they tend to do.

MLG has probably been the biggest e-sports company since like 2002, they aren't going out of business soon and im fairly certain the guys high-up like sundance & co are rolling in money. If MLG picked up tf2 as a main stage game not only would valve be inclined to support it(after putting out a shit ton of money for mlg to pick it up in the first place) but we would probably also see progressive response from valve to the TF2 Competitive community.

If your asking how active they are, i think they have like monthly live streams for SC2/dota with shit tons of views

Sadly I don't know enough about MLG to get involved on an organisational level, I am sure (hope) though with the right people getting in contact they can make this work.

Question is will this become another forgotten Ladder like ESL or will it go somewhere?

DaggerIs MLG going to be bigger and better than cevo/esea?

If it works out, easily.

Pretty much any competitive player knows that MLG is a thing, whether they play it, watch it, or hear about it. I believe they do ladders, though, so the scheduling is a lot different. I remember they had ladders back in H3/GoW2 days.

So, how difficult would it be for teams to work a ladder into their normal schedule? Say you have a ESEA match between iT and WELOVEANIME, for instance. They're both on the MLG ladder and the ladder runs the same rules as CEVO (wishing and hoping), could they set it up so the ESEA match counts also as a ladder match?

I remember watching early Halo 3 and some Halo 2 mlg events when i was like 12 or 13 that stuff was always entertaining. If we can get to like half of that it would be insane! What we need to remember is that Gamebattles is just the lower division of MLG. Yes if we get a good community in there it will help, but gambebattles it self doesn't do much at all we need to get teams into MLG events and have them broadcasted. If we don't get that then we are pretty much in the toilet in a repetitive cycle of nothingness and no lan events.

If you guys want MLG to support tf2 you actually have to play in the MLG league, not just congratulate them for having it.

Uhh didnt 6v6 win that MLG vote to be the next game after halo 3 died? And that was like 2 years ago... they of course picked up halo 4 but we did win the main stage vote, so keep that in mind.

As long as they genuinely take the advice of the community we will be fine, we just need to the right people giving it.

From memory, the ladder is just "play whenever". The higher the team you beat, the more points you earn. Similar to what IGL has, but they (MLG) have some more features, I think. They may or may not have a "you must play x amount of games in y amount of days" thing going on, but I'm not sure.

Pretty much for TF2 to hit mainstage, it needs to be successful in GameBattles (which I actually like, they have personal ratings and stuff, or at least they did back then).

This is definitely good news. I can pursue it myself after this neXt wek, but someone should get in touch with MLGAdam (super active in the dota community) as well as some other higher up MLG people.

Even though we may be late to the party, lets show our support!

While some of the DOTA 2 eSports features aren't in TF2 yet (ticket system), I'm sure Valve would be willing to work with MLG to put together a TF2 item. Kick around some ideas of what you would buy if there were MLG themed TF2 items.

The use of any communications other than what is provided within the game is strictly prohibited. For example, the use of Skype or private chatting during a match is not allowed.

This has been a rule for so long throughout gamebattles. It definitely needs to removed for most PC games.

Nice, might wanna change the tedious weapons banned list to weapons allowed though.
