Ban scout building - whitelist/plugin suggestion

Ban the boston basher and skins from whitelist. Feel like this is something that could be tested in a season to see how it plays, but the general gist of this would be the following:

  • Medic wouldn't be able to run away with scout speed and simultaneously building which would force the choice of slower movement speed versus building uber.
  • Should make pushing easier since teams would have 1 less projectile holding doors.
  • This should relegate more responsibility onto the rest of the team when it comes to building uber.

Personally i would love to try this in the next ETF2L season, to see how scout not being able to build uber would change the game. Feel free to share your thoughts below!

we tried out nerfing the scout-medic combo in s37 or some season and it ended up being dogwater. i doubt this would yield any better results

Wouldn't this just shift the meta to the demoman periodically wacking himself while holding doors?

I think the most meaningful impact is one that is not listed, that momentum would get a big buff. If the medic and scout are the only survivors on disad or even after an exchange then there's very little recourse for them to soften the blow by building (not even while running away because you are deleting stationary building from scout). I think it's less about making it so that there's one less explosive on a doorway and more like trading in some even holds for disad ones.
