stop playing tech support for this website

lots of the information you spread is just wrong or so completely irrelevant (at this point in time) that it hurts (posting about an RCE years after the code leak, talking about how changing DNS servers increases your in-game performance etc)

even when it's not and whatever you are saying is technically correct people are not asking you, they are asking the original creator of whatever tf2 customization is around

your posts often show that you essentially have zero interest in competitive, zero interest in the community and also zero interest in learning about either, and given that that's the only thing almost everyone on the forum has in common, you can't really expect a positive response

What im seeing from these replies, you remind me of me. And im sorry to say that, but due to how long ive been bere, this community is full of shitcocks that hurt me so bad i keep thinking about arson even though im a harmless person. Thats how bad competitive tf2 and generally every competitive multiplayer game is.

Performance guides are just a rather unfortunate thing to make here. Like once every other month some random dude just shows up and makes one of these as their first ever post. It happens often enough that people are really tired of seeing it

You often join threads talking about technical stuff. From your POV you're just trying to contribute in a meaningful way, but for others it sometimes seems like you're just trying to flex. I vaguely remember you also being called out in the past on giving misinformation which very quickly makes people lose faith in your posts.

I genuinely believe you have good intentions. The issue is you fail on the delivery.
Requires learning how to read the room better, how/when/why you participate in threads and how you structure your comments. Really that's just a general thing communicating anywhere. Both online and irl.

Also some people on TFTV are just gonna be mean regardless. Most of it is shitposting and trying to farm upfrags. Understandably, it's frustrating. Though if you genuinely try to do better, over time people see that effort and most will get off your back

Hope this helps

i think you should do something more productive with your time.
i see that you have affinity towards tinkering with computer so why not start a programming project?
its great that youre enthusiastic about tf2 configs and such but the game hasnt changed at all in 5 years so we pretty much know everything about it.

Imagine if mastercoms would have had this mindset.

As others have said, your heart is in the right place, but you keep whiffing the delivery and don't seem to learn, and insead are the meme of "am I wrong? No, it must be the community who is wrong"... For every post... I'm sure you weren't always in the wrong, but damn, the ratio is way off

reddit sucks because posts are sorted by votes not because voting exists. on here u can just not look at the right side of a post and ur experience will not be affected by +/-frags

It’s because you try to educate people on subjects you don’t really understand yourself eg the performance “””guide”””

and gotfrag is older than reddit, that is not the point. my point is that +/- fragging have been around for ages in relation to tf2 forums. granted tftv doesn't nuke your posts when you get below a certain number which i'm pretty sure gotfrag did

Guess that explains it. I didn't even realize they were that common.

I do have good intentions but it's difficult to "read the room" since I can't interpret social signals all that well.

its great that youre enthusiastic about tf2 configs and such but the game hasnt changed at all in 5 years so we pretty much know everything about it.

Only problem is that TF2 configs are all I can think about. I have thoughts of making a specification for configs, but I know I'm never gonna follow up on that. I help around the VDC Wiki and work on my bind-voicemenu generator, but that's about it.

Actually I kinda want to try to port mastercomfig to CS:GO...

I do have self-doubt and fact check stuff, but it's usually only after I get in an argument.

If you have a fuckload of downfrags, there's a good social cue that you're doing something wrong. Right now what you should look at is making baseless claims, getting into pointless arguments about the claims, and posting too much.

I think a lot of this forum has gone through a phase of thinking you're lost, to thinking you're a troll, back to thinking that you're lost and just too fargone to help.

Another thing is that I'm not entirely sure that you're aware that this is a forum for competitive 6s.
