Imagine how much better this issue would be if TF2 had girls playing it. As it stands currently our pedo scene operates similarly to Greek pederasty (paiderastia) with the predator also being a mentor of sorts, which while the pedophilia part is obviously the main concern, theres also a second layer of damage being done in getting them hooked on a 20 year old videogame that eats up a relatively important chunk of your developmental years. Sexual predation is obviously not a big concern for 90% of players since gay men make up a fraction of the population, so cases like the ones mentioned in the video are not something the average highschool boy pocket scout is worried would happen to them, and men in general are just less likely to report inappropriate sexual misconduct, especially when they are the victim. However if we had girls playing this game they would not fuck around about calling out pedos and trying to get everyone banned. Our pedos would have to be on their absolute best behavior to continue playing this game and would probably have to get their pedo fix elsewhere like so many of the overwatch and valorant players probably do.

Yeah fair enough, I want to apologize in advance because I probably did botch it a bit here and I think you're more likely to be in the right than me on it without going into any debating. I kinda tunnel visioned and wanted to emphasize directly how Tooru is facilitating hostility and interacting with the competitive community as present beyond what I think as a person, and in my mind directly going after his comments and what essentially displays his own intent was the way to go. I think much of what's been said here is valid, but I do feel that it's kinda being written off by his audience under the guise of just being hostility directed at Tooru, and I explicitly wanted to avoid that.

I didn't especially want to delve into a debate over what is/isn't true over what he's said as I wanted to try to convey to a wider audience predisposed against us that Tooru may not be seeking truth himself, and I thought it to be the perfect example of how exactly he is operating, along with the other comments I grabbed. I was thinking that a full on debunking response to his video and trying to convey what is and isn't truthful altogether as a whole may be in poor taste as I don't think this is the sort of topic for drawn out video essays at the expense of others, nor that it'd be something that'd appeal to the wider masses as much, already struggle with rambling myself. I really think someone else would also be better suited to doing so frankly than I.

I do think it's good for you to bring this up because there are just a lot of narratives being spun around on how we're responding to this, and to onlookers it introduces a slight bit more nuance if anyone sees comments where we are in fact having disagreement. and conflict

I kinda just wanted to put something out there in voice because I feel that the main people spewing animosity our way are treating our perspectives collectively as some dehumanized hivemind of evil and that's a lot easier to do when there isn't a voice to it, it's going to be flawed but I wanted to get the ball rolling to draw pressure off of anyone else who wanted to speak up more directly. If you want to go ahead and give further context on the chipmunks anywhere and talk on my faults on the matter assuming the video has any relevancy beyond the forums, I think that'd be a good thing. I just didn't see how he wanted to interact with the chipmunks as being genuine in the slightest and this is all I wished to convey to stay consistent with the spirit of my video, not to speak anything on the context beyond that.

I can't think of any singular thing more indicative of Tooru's motives than including claims and discussion on the subject, and then immediately backpedaling in the comments when reached out to, and this is all I'd mean to say. It's either an important part of the discussion when you're making this to begin with, or it isn't. Any admission otherwise, is it's own proof towards a dramatic narrative intent used when it suits your own purpose imo.
