Me and the boys were mixing once again, searching games through etf2l discord and found these fine gentleman
https://steamcommunity.com/id/gypsysh

The first whom name is visible on the first screenshot and the latter (most likely an alt account) decided to greet us with the message on the second screenshot

https://i.imgur.com/zHCx2Zm.png
https://i.imgur.com/FzOKdHG.png (the third screenshot just because i dont want to be hit by the admins with "but the changed the name already everything is fine xd)

The response from the admin team was fairly unexpected from older reports about matters such as these
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/539805002697539584/721349748149321808/etf2lcolond.png

Earlier case from January, we reported our opponent because on the killcam we saw the he was running a fairly peculiar set of weapons provided in the first screenshot. In the same admin request we brought up how an active gamer was acting really homophomic, promising to hunt down and kill players on lan due to their sexual alignment. Since that is from a private discord I will share it if any admins are once again interested. The answer from the admins is in the second screenshot.

This is not meant as a witch hunt however it is really weird for etf2l to state that racism and homophobia is out of their scope considering that they have in the past taken really drastic measures against such things. The most meaningful one being the case where pred and degu were harassing uberchain on twitter (out of etf2l scope). etf2l's response on the matter
https://etf2l.org/2018/08/07/official-statement/

Jedi(fla)master got banned on etf2l for posting a video regarding BlueBunny for a lifetime or until the video was taking off the platform, once again this wasnt on etf2l but rather on youtube, that being out of etf2l scope.

In the second fresh meat cup a team who had an admin at the time decided to play with these names because their opponents were named Niger gaming. Their punishment was a major warning (meaningless in the playoffs stage because the team hadn't taken any other warnings on the season) and a map pick disadvantage on the next round on the playoffs.
https://i.gyazo.com/dfe419ba117800a1b9e79431ce96dcc9.png

The last case that comes to my mind is RRR aka littlenyar getting banned for initially 4 years, shortened down to entirety of 2020, for posting a negative comment about a league admin who had recently passed away.

At this point it seems to me that etf2l are just highly biased to punish people who are mean to their own friends, while disregarding what happens on the lower divisions, brushing it under the rug and claiming things are out of their scope. I have seen etf2l admins play pubs with their friends, having their friends call people by racial slurs yet they take no action against them, just because its out of their scope.

aparently an admin put their mid team in div3 last season simply cause they could (and iirc without really consulting their team either), leaving multiple far better teams in mid while they won a single map all season

I didn't read anything in this thread besides the title but I had a cool idea.

We should make the ETF2L and RGL admins fight to the death in a gladiator match and the winner gets to be in charge of all the leagues.

Yes, I got my team in div3 last season because there was a spot open and literally every better mid team declined the offer to be moved up. All of the team members were asked about it and no one refused.

We knew it probably wouldn't be a good season for us but decided to bite the bullet. You wouldn't blame the gay jail for leaving all the better teams in div1 either.

I wasn't just banned on ETF2L. I also received a steam ID ban on all serveme.tf server (while paedos could still play on them) and an ETF2L admin contacted other leagues (RGL/UGC) to get me mirror banned. While someone writing this (https://imgur.com/a/7hH4gAW) on the same discord server while an admin reacted received no ban.

These people are clearly just trying to be shitters and should learn their actions have consequences.
I feel if users of your platform are concerned w the behaviour of other users on your platform that should fall within the scope of ETF2L.

clearly stuff like this should be out of line

private discordIn the same admin request we brought up how an active gamer was acting really homophomic, promising to hunt down and kill players on lan due to their sexual alignment.

Let me start this response of by saying I'm disappointed that you didn't even take the time to await a response on your latest response in the admin request. Furthermore, you didn't present all the evidence you present in this thread as I will point out below. I'm always open to discuss further but this is not the way to go about it.

You provided none of the Imgur screenshots in your initial report, nor did you mention you found the game through our discord. You didn't mention that you found the game on our discord server until your first response to my initial response at 14:45. I wasn't home at the time and I guess since I didn't respond within 5 minutes a public post had to be made.

This is incorrect. He asked us whether he would be punished if he reuploaded a video for which another player got a warning initially. The obvious response here was yes, he proceeded to re-upload the video either way and the rest is history.

I admit we could have dealt with this case in a more suiting way. As opposed to common believe we are not to proud to admit mistakes another example of which is the case below.

A negative comment is grossly understating what happened, both nyar and the admin team have talked about this in private and sorted it out.

As an ending note I'll state I'm more than happy to continue this further in the admin request you made but the false information being spread here really warranted a public response.

ETF2L having double standards about stuff is virtually nothing new, I remember a season where a Fresh Meat team with admins on it each had a letter of the n-word in their names so they could form it on the scoreboard. The screenshot of it seems to be gone by now but back then their stance was that they """technically""" didn't use a slur since the scoreboard had to be in the right order for it to be.

edit: I can't read since the guy mentioned it in his post, but the response to it is still silly

especially in lower divs people get shuffled between/kept in divisions against their will all the time tho (plenty cases just this season), was there any good reason for the handling of div3 last season other than certain teams threatining to disband right away if they arent allowed to sandbag, the fact that people are allowed to get away making claims like these and still get their will is ridiulous

I do sympathise with the job league admins have to do, however, after the pred/degu affair it was clear that a lot of these problems would emerge. The ETF2L rule update read as holy crusade to police all discrimination across the internet, and as we said at the time, the league was unrealistic in their scope and it's become almost impossible to consistently enforce.

I understand the desire for a broad T&Cs that allows admin discretion, but it has just increased the instances of double standards and favouritism recently; although these seem to have been mostly centralised around certain individual admins. We are also more reliant on public outrage/ witch hunts than ever.

Overall though I think ETF2L has done a decent job in recent years. They could certainly standardise their decision making a little better, but I do not desire the overreach we have seen from RGL.

imo: etf2l admins don't give 2 shits about being offensive, but if they don't pretend like they do all the sensitive children are going to raid ETF2LHQ and hang them with their furry costumes because some guy didn't get banned for saying the nword or calling someone who got raped for the 123425 time dumb
