In a quote from GRRM himself "Only once has a dragon even been killed by a projectile, and that was a one in a million shot. A mature dragon in the air is essentially invulnerable." Think how hard it was for Bronn to inflict a flesh wound to drogon. Notice how the spear barely stuck in him. Now the spears go through rhaegal like he's made of cheese, not to mention the fact that it would be more or less impossible to even hit him from that far away. Just terrible.

I mean I think the implication is they didn't have massive anti-dragon weapons at the time, and that the previous one in a million shot was against a fully grown and mature dragon, not a teenage one who was kinda fucked up from fighting it's undead brother piloted by an ice necromancer

First half was good, it was a party but you could feel the tension underneath it. Thought they did a good job balancing the celebration with the tension. The second half was just...why? It felt so poorly done lmao

To me it felt like they made an episode and then cut and pasted 2 extra bits on the end from later episodes. The pacing is just laughable at this point.

Yeah alright we can give them the scorpion ex-machina where we just pretend they were able to build like 100 dragon killing machines in like a few months. Fine. But the "one in a million" shot comes from the fact that it's really really hard to fucking hit anything with them, let alone a flying dragon like half a mile away, WHILE YOU'RE ON THE DECK OF A MOVING SHIP. like lets imagine Rhaegal's neck is like 5-10 feet wide. That target would be impressive to hit with a modern sniper rifle. And they hit him three times in a row, even after he started moving erratically after the first it. It's probably the worst possible death for a dragon. They could have just had Viserion kill him.

The political stuff in the Episode was actually enjoyable and reminded me of the old GOT where the story moved with conversations.

Jamie and Brienne banging was so fucking dumb though, like there was never any sexual tension there at all and then also he decided that he wanted to stay in Winterfell with her for some reason? Before this point there was always a mutual respect between the two because of their morals and fighting ability but now they wanna bang and shit.

The whole dragon death was really annoying though, the show HAD been about what was realistic for the era it was inspired from. After that we then had these fucking boats all with these mounted scorpions on them bullseyeing every ship.

Also, how did they only get Missandei? How did she even get caught she was on the same ship as Grey Worm? Like wtf?

Also, Dany goes up to the King's Landing with like a squad of 40 men. Facing all these lazer pointed scorpions, loads of men with arrows...

Why didn't Cersei just fire? For all she knows she could have ended the whole thing there and then.
Also Drogon is 100% in range just chilling, there's a lot less distance between Drogon and Kings Landing than there was with Euron and Rhaegal, they could have also taken out the last dragon.

Yeah I think Cersei has been shown to not be above brutal and dishonorable tactics to win (sept of baelor?). Honestly, if I was in Cersei's position facing the death of everyone in my city and my house I would have just shot all of those bolts at Drogon and then just rode down the rest of them. With Dany, Drogon, Grey Worm, Tyrion, and Varys dead the war would be over.

Regardless of the quality (or lack of) of the episode, I found it hilarious the writers are getting so much shit on the internet because they "killed one of the only black characters in the show". This is getting ridiculous.

They could've at least had Rhaegal go out after heroically dropping a fiery nuke on Euron's fleet and saving Dany/Drogon and the Unsullied fleet in the process - the death was so sudden and over so quickly that it was shocking not in how sad it was as a event in the story but shocking/galling from a meta-perspective in what a pitiful send-off the writers decided to give such an important part of the show.

As underwhelming as this season is, at least Tormund had some 10/10 lines.

Prediction for this season ending: Arya goes Assassin's Creed on Cersei + Danny and Jon is literally a NPC again. Drogon is gonna be like the hypeman spitting fire around and not actually doing any damage, then Euron is gonna 1v1 Jon and lose. I fucking hope it's not gonna be this way but the writing seems to be going this direction.

I was really hoping the Night King's death would be way better and at least have some Jon + Arya combo but instead Arya just dunks on this guy out of nowhere... PLEASE

It is somewhat a jon/arya combo, if only because Jon yells at her to go while standing up to distract the dragon, that doesnt make it much better, but its at least a nice touch. Other than that I completely agree with what you said.

I'm actually hoping for Sansa on the iron throne after all of this. She's the only truly interesting character left at this point.

didn't she go there with 20,000 unsullied? didn't some of them die to Eurons ships before as well? And she said she lost half at winterfell (which is a huge fucking LMAO because the way that it was shot only 5 people lived).

I love how it just decreases and increases in size when the story needs it.

Ok, so if it was 8000 and now around 4000 after the winterfell fight its 4000 + any remaining from the northern armies vs. 20,000 golden company + eurons ships + lannister army + the army that sits with KL anyway.

The plot armour is going to be giga thic
