prograde LFT pocket high open/low-mid IM S27

I've been a career team leader, but after a couple seasons of stagnation due to chronic roster problems and little luck rebuilding the roster for S27 so far, I'm going to be tentatively looking to play pocket for a serious high open or low-mid IM team. I could also play roamer or pocket scout, but not nearly as well since I have no experience outside pugs on roamer, and I'm unbelievably inconsistent on scout.

I can maincall pretty well, I never tilt (given reasonable conditions), and though I'm not very consistent with my DM I'm usually on par with the level I'm looking to play at. My background as a team leader also gives me a lot of experience organizing, scheduling, and setting up servers. Give me a tryout if you want a dedicated player with plenty of experience and a professional attitude.

Very dedicated and a nice guy, but I think mid-high open would be more appropriate than mid IM

Nice guy. He takes his teams seriously and is always been consistent in my experiences on the management side of things. In my opinion, getting him away from his team and previous rosters will be a good opportunity to prove himself as a standalone player. This is what he needs to do to progress, and I think if he takes the opportunity he will progress well. On the other hand, I know fun it is to lead a team and play on it with your friends, so I don't blame him if not. Give him a shot if he decides to take this route. Personally, I have not had a bad experience with this guy.

nazarahow are you going to say mid im when you have gone 6-10 for the past 2 seasons

Hey nazara, thanks for the reply!

I'm glad you brought this up, this is a concept a lot of players seem to struggle with. You see, believe it or not there's actually a difference between the team leader and the individual players on his team. If you take this into account and then use a useful tool called "nuance", it becomes easy to understand how this kind of thing can happen. In this case, you can utilize "nuance" by going past the ESEA team front page and clicking on the "Roster History" tab, then comparing the roster changes with match performance. If you wanted to do more than due diligence, you could even cross-reference roster changes with scrim performance by using logs.tf!

I hope you found this information helpful :)

Take it from me, it's a lot more fun to be condescending when you actually have even the slightest idea what you're talking about

From someone who's player on multiple teams with him

In short, really nice and fun dude out of game, but needs to work on decision making, being more open-minded, and being realistic about his own skill level.

Tends to blame clear positional mistakes on baiting but may cease when a different team leader other than himself sets him straight.

Good mid-high open pick as he won't tilt/emo out, will be reliable and hard-working, and has enough dm at that level to hold his own.

Skill level is nowhere near high open let alone mid im from what I could tell when we scrimmed him once.

muddy, maybe if you wanted to go mid open you wouldn't start fresh with a totally new roster every season

rant incoming: on top of starting fresh rosters every season resulting in his lack of success, I don't think he's very open minded about about map reviews and stuff like that. I remember changing so much stuff in his Snakewater powerpoint when i tried out for their team before s26 and he was very prompt to dismiss what i had to say, and how i could improve their holds, in that snakewater scrim they rang Slicerogue on demo and he did quite well, but when i played the 10:30 with them he shit talked slicerogue and blamed him for them losing like 5-3 or something, even though a) he was not at all comfortable playing demo and b) despite point a) was actually a better demo than the rest of the tryouts were at their classes, as well as better than muddy on pocket.

overall: if you're like mid open (2 div) then i'd suggest picking him up because he's hella dedicated and wants to learn, but at the same time I dont think he's currently open minded enough to actually search for and use any advice that he is given.

viperMuddyFudgerthe right way does not involve being a condescending douchebag

I'll admit I indulged waaaaay too much in that post. Snark aside though, my advice was genuine and my point was salient; the performance or skill of any other individual on a given team should not necessarily be conflated with the performance or general skill of the rest of the team as a whole, and players should perhaps do a little legwork before posting something based on, for instance, hearsay or a single scrim against an old lineup. I guess I can't speak for anyone else, but I would certainly never shitpost on someone else's LFT thread with a comment that lacked any recent, relevant, or accurate information.
