I seriously don't get these threads about tiny settings/config differences (this thread and RainOfLight's scout comm button thread comes to mind). It's whatever you perform better with and what is more comfortable to you. The only real exception for that is view models and maybe maccel for hitscan weapons.

i got r_drawviewmodel 1 on primary and 0 on secondary. i constantly switch around when using gunboats.

I cant hit anything with the rocketlauncher with viewmodels on, so i dont use viewmodels except for melee

I used to toggle with mousewheel but now I use transparent viewmodels

they take up a lot of space but I can't tell when exactly the rockets are loaded without viewmodels

i never bothered to make a script for soldier so i usually turn them off on almost every class to reduce screen clutter

No primary or secondary, yes melee as said above, I don't mind viewmodels with the Original though. Shotgun and any non-Original rocket launcher I can't deal with them.

I do remember the first time I ever turned off viewmodels and almost immediately hit an airshot with the rocket jumper and wanted to delete local content immediately

I dont use viewmodels for anything on soldier
but the other day I beefed very hard with the escape plan because I had no viewmodel so I may change that for melee

i have them on for secondary so when I hit '2' it tries to swap to gunboats and turns on viewmodels so i can spam it like a weirdo

I usually toggle on when I suddenly feel my aim is distorted, well rather view. This also happens when I play scout, after long time staring at people and targeting them, feel like crosshair vanishes in front of my eyes and I just have to toggle on the viewmodel for a sec, something is wrong with me.

It's going to blow when Valve finally follow up on their promise to force viewmodels in one of the coming updates. Transparent viewmodels would be a compromise I could live with.

Valve never promised to force viewmodels from what I know? It was discussed but they never said they were going to...
Given that it's one of the few commands you can change in matchmaking I doubt they'll stop you from doing it.

B4nny talked about Valve forcing viewmodels on stream during the MM initial release. It was stated that viewmodels was one of the only things valve didn't seem to want to budge on. B4nny said something along the lines of "I can sacrifice viewmodels if it's the price for valve to support the competitive scene".

So unless there is information to the contrary, I'm going to assume they aren't going to budge on the one thing they said they wouldn't budge on
