First you go

QuazzyI await all the 14 year old tf2 experts who i'm sure will let me know exactly how wrong I am about this, and watch as as thread gets -fragged.

And then you go

QuazzyI would appreciate intelligent replies from people who know Invite better than I do.

You can't make an assumption for an entire community forum first, and then make the terms for the discussion second, whilst stating and issue you find with the community you make assumptions on originally, all the while trying to stay credible as a "passionate" viewer.

You're whole idea is not only backwards in logic, but your entire posts reminds me of the fluff people add to their resumes to fill it as one page because they don't have enough to write down.

i have to say that i stopped following invite tf2 completely the moment froyo was made, and stopped watching most casts once mix^ disbanded

like it was already stated before, it's definitely not froyo's fault

there's just no one in NA with as much drive/like-minded teammates to contest them as it stands right now lol

time changes everything and team dynasties eventually crumble

I think the problem is there's no real incentives to get better at the game, while other games have plenty of incentives with bigger prizepools, sponsorship deals, more viewers/publicity, potential for streaming money (although you dont need to be good for this it just helps), etc

while if you work hard to beat froyo you can win 2k (minus travel, accommodation, food, etc) have 2000-3000 people watch you do it, no sponsors that I know of, etc doesn't seem worth it to me

I don't think that there has been a competitive game where people formed a "super team" in a region and dominated it for a while. Eventually other people who want to win catch up and things get competitive again. One of TF2s problems is that people don't like to look outside of their friend groups in order to recruit people, so teams almost always end up being at least half "friend teams" that just stick together and stagnate.

The bigger problem is that there's no new talent for quite a while now, you begin to see the same faces at every LAN since beggining of 2014.

Also the top teams put absolutely no effort into scrimming because they all know they will make LAN regardless, so there's no way for other people to get practice against them or have any starting point besides playing IM/low invite teams.

theres no ROI in tf2 for either sponsors or players, IMO; Job, family, friends, pets, everything > tf2
it was fun for a while but at some point you gotta justify if its worth spending 80+ hours every 2 weeks to play a game where one day you might win -$0.
better to just go and try any of the other games that are also fun where you can also make some money if youre good (dota, league, cs, potentially reflex hahahaha)

there have ALWAYS been super teams throughout the entirety of competitive TF2, even when CEVO-P was still big. Competition for these teams come and go, it always has, superteams don't have anything to do with stunting TF2 growth.

taggFor my first ESEA LAN I placed 4th and made -$44 with my winnings. Not including food or shuttle/taxi expenses either. Its butts dude

To be honest I'd probably be okay with paying 44 dollars to travel to LAN and play with my friends.

Is it just because I'm a kid that I don't care about the money? I couldn't care less about winning money. I want to be the best at the game I love playing, and that's why I can spend so much time in this game without it getting stale. My drive isn't money, but instead getting better and eventually making LAN because that seems like an experience that is priceless.

From now on anyone who says "TF2 is dead/dying/ded" has to pay me 1$/€/£. I'll get filthy rich in no time!

There have been far worse things than Froyotech and either they didn't kill TF2 so Froyo won't either. Or TF2 got killed long ago and we just didn't notice. In that case Froyo isn't a thread anymore.

Dignitas didn't kill TF2.
Old Epsi didn't kill TF2.
New Epsi didn't kill TF2.
i46 mix^ didn't kill TF2.
i49 Epsi didn't kill TF2.
i52 Froyo won't kill TF2.

Hell, if Defcon 0, fakkelbrigade winning prem, couldn't kill TF2, nothing will!

shouldn't the huge waves of players from 2011/2012 be getting into ESEA by now? :(

There is always going to be a top team but your saying that none of invite was competitive when this season almost every team except for the ones that died and yomies were all contending for lan spots. The scores don't say it but this season is one of the most competitive ones in a long time.

When a team with showstopper has a chance to make lan something is wrong with your competitive scene.

Nice fake profile Shade.

Pretend to be an anti-Froyotech campaigner when in reality all you're doing is rallying support for your cause and using the media attention to boost t-shirt sales.

You might have fooled everyone else, but I see through this shameless marketing ploy!

womnificwomnificI think that cafemonster might pose some sort of threat to froyotech, but I think froyotech is doing too well to make invite interesting to watch. I'd rather watch high open
high im ≠ high invite

Well cafemonster were high IM last season, and they're gonna move up to invite. I hope they do well in invite

its the "might pose some sort of threat to froyotech" line that got to me

in what way will they become a threat to froyotech. im not hating on cafe monster but yomies beat them regularly so i barely doubt they can contest with froyotech

cafe monster beat us regularly and if they stay together they will be better than we were

mangachus team was probably the only one with the hope of cracking the top 4
