this map is awful for dm and the fact that it's a "classic" map and how hilarious it is to see people get trained doesn't excuse this

sal please

you got this a bit backwards, we need to cut granary from esea's map rotation and replace it with freight next season

the map is basically an overlarge flat map and the little terrain it does have damages fights
the buildings in the middle split the mid in half resulting in often uneven fights between smaller numbers, the trains worsen this fact (not fun)
the hut you can stand on in the middle of the map allows soldiers to sit up there and spam easily padding their stats (not fun)
it's difficult for a demo or soldier to close the distance to shoot these soldiers due to the possibility of a scout (or anyone really) shooting them in the back especially due to first point risen (not fun)
even if the demo can shoot the soldier he can easily jump away to the other hut and continue to spam like a nut (not fun)
the water is impossible to see through with most configs, although this rarely matters when it does it is somewhat frustrating (not fun)
soldiers can be shoot the two cement blocks meaning that a scout can never use it for movement beyond hiding behind it, unlike say badlands trains, although the object is there it adds little to the game beyond seperating the healthpack from a large open area meaning those who typically go to grab the healthpack die (not fun)
trains are hilarious (fun)

the map adds little to the dm rotation, nothing that isn't already existant in other maps and isn't part of either the esea or cevo map pool meaning there is little sense for its existence as part of the dm servers

it's the only map in the rotation that makes me want to stop playing dm, unless someone can raise a few solid points as to why it should be kept in the rotation I don't see why it should

The fact that the majority of the people disagree with you should be enough of a reason to keep it.

isn't there areas in literally every dm map where soldiers can abuse highground?

also since when did anyone actually give a shit about stats in dm

Why should it be kept? Because all of those reasons are just nitpicking the map. Freight is fine for DM.

Sorry I didn't realize DM was all about you having fun and not about people getting better.

Can we put a prophunt map into the rotation then?

whether its in the rotation or not is irrelevant, gpit is out of ESEA that doesn't mean it shouldn't be in dm. we need more maps taking one out that YOU dislike isn't the answer....i hate gullywash in dm but that doesn't mean im gonna disconnect and lose my spot. just suck it up and play the map

If you don't like it, then don't play DM when the map switches to freight, there are other DM servers?

There's a ton of shitty maps in DM, but at some point you stop caring because it's DM.

Freight is my least favorite dm map. Just the way it's layed out and the positioning of the spawns means that someone is always spawning behind you no matter what. Of course every dm map is like this but freight feels extra nasty about it. That said it's just dm and it's still a fine place to shoot people so leave it be.

Freight is honestly one of the better DM maps, I don't know what you're on about. You're complaining about solders spamming from highground? Besides like viaduct, freight has some of the least problem with that and has good spawns so you don't spend half your time walking back to the fight or wasting health rocket jumping twice as soldier.

Also as users above me have already said, gravelpit, snakewater, and granary are much more intolerable when it comes to soldiers just ruining the fun for everyone else - especially if the server isn't full yet.

If any DM Map needs first dibs on the chopping block it should be fricken TURBINE. Freight is not even top 3 of bad DM maps, its way down the list.

ive always liked freight as a dm map

i like turbine but that's probably because I only dm as scout, i think if I was Soldier I would want to kill myself on that map since there's so much shit at mid that eats your rockets among other things

You're just training to shoot shit that's out in the open and chasing people who are weak. It's the way of 6's, doesn't matter the map.

And fuck that, freight stays. I stand with defy, gullywash is too cramped for dm.

I like Freight, but I would remove Turbine because playing DM on that map can get very crowded.

You realise DM = Deathmatching which = adapting to situations based on the map layout. Whether or not a map is balanced in your eyes has little to do with whether or not you can shoot straight and dodge shit.

Different maps = different situations = different ways of fighting. Don't matter if it's Freight, Badlands, Snakewater, Dustbowl, 2Fort or cp_dealwithit_rc7. You can practise DM anywhere...
