I reported this guy a month ago, surprised to see he’s not banned yet. He played newcomer last season on soldier and now he suddenly is the next up IM/Main scout despite never having a log of scout before. Oh, and yeah, like AI mentioned, he’s suddenly on 40 less ping to Chicago than he was last season, while also being on a team that had a cheater last season. Like I get we want le epic demoknight gimmick in 6s to work, are we that desperate to keep having one of your scouts blatently ragehack and waste other people’s time?

While I know there are good intentions behind this and why there shouldn't be witch hunt threads, you can't retroactively hide cheats from your demos. Most servers people use are by default, requiring you to record demos locally. Even then, if someone gets called out for cheating they won't magically be better at hiding it while still getting value out of it. I know that is technically correct to not call it out, but I would bet that half of the people named in these threads would not have been banned within a reasonable timeframe.
It took over a month to ban a guy adding up to RGL pugs and blatently aimbotting and walling while nearly everyone that played against or with him could tell. I would bet if we made a thread he would have banned way sooner. How many times have cheaters benefited from being called out compared to being exposed and not just plowing through a division?

I agree with this because, for me, this is less about witch hunting because to me, if a player is cheating, the idea of witch hunting them is no longer a valid definition. After all, they are wasting people's time and enjoyment of the game by cheating. There are so many cases of cheaters going under the radar until playoffs are starting or already over, and as a result, the other teams that were cheated just can't get justice. These people need to be brought up as soon as possible and ostracized from the community.

I agree with this because, for me, this is less about witch hunting because to me, if a player is cheating, the idea of witch hunting them is no longer a valid definition. I’m one of those players who have the assisting alting ban but it’s also a bullshit ban that I’ve tried multiple times to appeal and speak with admins directly and get the cold shoulder. 2 year ban for assisting an alt that I didn’t realize was an alt (while also never having any history of being banned for anything since 2009), while being med locked in AM just to help someone else out cause I had nothing better to do. I think a lot of the frustration with this is that it’s very easy to see for any admin this guy is cheating, in addition to all the circumstantial evidence (it obviously also being a shared account and the fact that this team is already replacing their cheating scout from last season). It shouldn’t take one month plus to ban someone, who, where if you go into any one of their demos at random, you are able to tell they are hacking within five minutes. Like, it’s almost as if he is spinbotting with how he has a talent for randomly aim locking players behind him, and I think he uses his aim key more than actual aim. For someone like elijahhh, where you actually have to slow down the demo to see they were cheating, I think most people are fine with it taking a couple weeks considering the staff is volunteers and actual analysis and brainpower is required. Even when the matches get eventually overturned, two teams now have already had to waste an hour of their lives playing against a cheater
Also the team he is on reminds me of those who were behind the bot crisis for casual. Zero interest in actually playing the game, just focused on being sadistic and ruining other people’s fun. They all need to be banned too or I wouldn’t doubt they will just find a third cheater.
