im glad this thread still gets posted in organically. i know a lot of people sometimes dont have a space they feel comfortable sharing their happiness, because it will get ignored or shot down one way or another by those around them. sometimes people dont have anyone to share things with at all. the goal of this thread was to provide that space without it having it feel like unnecessarily/cringely flexing on people, and im happy it still fulfills that.

Down 40 pounds in recent months.

JH football team I'm coaching is 1-3, but we had a great practice today and will take on our nearby rivals Thursday with a great shot at a big upset.

Work is going well.

Lot to be thankful for.

I am 6 days cold turkey of THC after 2 years of daily use. Wasn't able to eat for the first 3 days but I made it over the hump and am able to keep food down.

I now have a job within my major (finance) and have left retail hell.

Attribute it to my sobriety and will continue to take it one day at a time!!!

Not to treat this thread like a journal, but I have found another milestone. A job that values you and knows your worth. (Not the same from my original post go figure)
Having a team behind you makes all the difference. Writing this to reflect on the happiness in being accepted to a full time salary position after struggling landing a full time position out of college in 2020.

All of this to say if you don't feel at home and supported at your current role I stress you to continue looking and find your people. They are out there and will see your value.

I know the gauntlet of online applications is reaching critical mass, reading about how AI has effected job applications is wild. I can go on a tirade on my personal experience going through it after having serious self anxiety and impostor syndrome during the interview process. Happy to talk to others who may feel the same.
Hope all are well

After a war with my post-secondary education, eventually dropping out of my physics degree at the end of 2024, I took an accelerated power engineering program this spring, had a job interview yesterday and was offered the job today. I have never been more relieved in my life, I can finally start to live my life truly independently.

Took a leap of faith career-wise 2 years ago to start training as an air traffic controller. Went through multiple stages of training where I could have been fired if I didn't learn/perform well enough. Very happy to say that I'm now fully certified and will have a solid career until I retire!

Also a pilot flew in the other night and said he's flown in a few times with me, recognized my voice and that I was a great controller :)

Things are slightly better nowadays for me. I finished my semester with straight A’s and I’ve been working a lot more in general.

I was also diagnosed with bipolar ii disorder last fall, which was a major boost for continuing to improve mental health wise. With just everything that’s happened I feel pretty cold and disinterested with life, but I’m trying my best to contnue moving forward despite that.

I got fired from a job I loved on some bullshit (real life homosexual coworker who used to flirt with me ((50 year old man btw)) became my boss decided he didn't like me anymore and got me fired), BUT I qualify for unemployment due to the nature of it all. I've never had government assistance for anything bcus I never qualified for one reason or another, so having my bills paid in this current job market is honestly such a fucking relief. Rare Michigan/USA W.

My dad called me a loser regularly growing up, which explains why I'm an attention whore.... but man being an attention whore obsessed with music and creativity gives you an edge in punk rock. To say that TF2 6s got me through the darkest chapter of my life would be an understatement. My teams and teammates were so good to me it is actually bringing me to tears typing this. Tec, Fireball, Tyler, Dogdayboy, Untamed, Manfart2021, Likeasir, Justario, Mythic, Olive, Xero, Crump, Fishl, Mur, Holly, Aifx, Josh, Jelly, MichealPC1. I mean I poured my heart and forced your ears to listen to me and I learned extremely valuable things in that time.
