I think maybe providing monitor rentals for the invite teams wouldn't be that bad of an idea, cus like papi said, not having monitors to rent would put off some of the top teams

Last but not least, it is almost a certainty that entry to the event will only be possible with proof of vaccination against or recovery of COVID19.

What about COVID tests if provided every 48h

We have no information about whether you will be able to enter with a negative test. However, afaik that would only be possible if the test is less than 24h old in the first place.
I am told Denmark has reintroduced COVID19 policies again as of today (they previously had no restrictions whatsoever). This is an indication that the situation there can change quickly. In my personal opinion, I would expect that by april 2022 conventions, concerts and other events will likely only be allowed for people with a vaccination or recovery.
In any case, you will have to decide whether you want to take the risk and book your stuff if you are not planning on getting vaccinated.

Any word on sorting out Monitor rentals for the invite teams? Thinking about BYOC is putting a serious damper on my enthusiasm for this lan.

as it is right now with the event still not being cancelled, im personally leaning towards cancellation of the event not happening as of right now since currently there doesnt seem to be a push for further regulations

HOWEVER
i did do some digging on the danish ministry of foreign affairs website in regards to regulations upon entering the country
https://en.coronasmitte.dk/travel-rules <- website found here if you wanna look for yourself, alternatively your own countries embassy in denmark/ministry of foreign affairs probably has info aswell, i would highly recommend checking both sides
as it stands right now, a negative test is required when entering denmark from both the schengen area and oecd countries however, if you are not vaccinated and are travelling from a country not in the schengen area (ie. the uk) you will have to isolate for 10 days
this is of course what the rules are right now, and they will probably change before april, but as it stands right now i dont see them changing too much

tldr: get vaccinated, get tested, preferably pcr, before you go to denmark and make sure to check for any regulations when returning home as well

I don't see any information about safety while in the venue, will a mask be mandatory at all times while inside the venue? If not, what is the current policy for this event regarding masks and safety while inside?

Hello people, we do apologise for the radio silence from our end. With this post we will try to cover some questions that we’ve seen that people have and also give a general update about the event.

Covid-19:
At the moment Denmark has travel restrictions due to Covid-19. Domestically, the Danish ministry of health suggests that the amount of people newly infected with Covid-19 (which is updated daily) will peak sometime in January. However, the wider Covid-19 situation, such as vaccination rate and spread, in your own country might affect your possibility of attending the event.

We still believe that Copenhagen Games will be a thing, at least currently, a full cancellation of the event seems unlikely.

It is important to remember that being unvaccinated in Denmark is going to limit you a lot. Unvaccinated people will have to be quarantined on arrival to Denmark until they have at least 1 negative PCR test. This may vary depending on your country of origin. Even with a negative PCR test you may still face problems entering restaurants, public transportation and the venue. Thus, we recommend everyone who plans to attend the event to be fully vaccinated.

Safety at the event:
There will be restrictions within the actual venue. We don’t have any official guidelines as of yet as these will be decided on closer to the event. However these restrictions could include measures like requiring attendees to wear facemasks, proof of vaccination or social distancing at the event.

Rentals:
There is an update on the rental situation, but it’s not for the better compared to the information that we’ve previously provided. Currently there’s unfortunately no rentals confirmed, neither PCs or monitors. It is a very unfortunate situation that we’re trying our best to resolve.

We want to be transparent about why there’s uncertainty with the rental situation. The reason ties back to how rentals have worked at previous Copenhagen Games events. There are no companies operating in Denmark that have the capacity to rent out PCs+monitors suitable for gaming in the numbers that are required by an event like this. The solution has been that every rental at Copenhagen Games is originally bought by Copenhagen Games and then after being rented out during the event is resold at a discounted price. The current market for PC parts makes it almost impossible to close a deal that would allow us to provide rentals without making a large economic loss. While this is a tremendous task that we’re trying our very best to find a solution to, there is currently none. We will try to keep you all updated as soon as something changes.

Cancelation of the event & refunds:
If the event is cancelled due to a lockdown in Denmark or similar political interference, there will be a refund of the event tickets. Other events are right now in a grey-zone, which means we, at this time, don’t know what kind of refund we are looking at. If you have any worries in that regard, please write a short scenario and DM @Mia#8373 in the Copenhagen Games 22 TF2 Discord, and we will discuss your scenario with Copenhagen Games leadership.

In the event that you are unable to attend due to illness or travel restrictions between Denmark and your country of origin, your own insurance will have to cover any costs.

Lastly, it’s incredibly important that you read and understand all refund policies before booking anything for the upcoming event, this includes the event tickets themselves, your travel and your stay in Copenhagen. It’s also important that you have a good understanding of what your own insurance will cover in the case that the event is cancelled or if you have to extend your stay in Denmark due to new restrictions or quarantine requirements.

General event information:
Tickets for the event are now for sale and you can buy yours here: https://copenhagengames.com/ticket-types

We will try and provide more information about the tournament structure itself and the event schedule as soon as possible, but as you can imagine, our current top priority is to first find solutions to more pressing issues.

Why is this not being decided on now? This is an important decision-maker for my attendance and others as well.
I would really like to know how safe the event will be before committing.

Because we as PhoenixRed are only responsible for the TF2 tournament. Copenhagen Games is hosting the event as a whole and has not announced any details on that matter. They will probably end up going with whatever protocols the Danish government decides on for events like this. It will likely depend on what the COVID situation is in Denmark at that time.
Generally speaking, if you are afraid to contract COVID - which is fair - you should consider not attending an event with potentially hundreds of people in any case.

Will forward your suggestion, but not sure how realistic this is.
