I put in bold all the things that I doubt most people actually have open/have/or use while playing a game. Seriously "several nero instances" who burns a DVD / rips images while playing games in 2018? Who uses jdownloader in 2018? 4 virtual desktops... More than 2 displays? Also who watches a movie while gaming? mat_picmip -10 doesn't work -1 is the highest quality option available even with sv_cheats currently picmip can be -1, 0 , 1, or 2. Finally, 8x MSAA and 8x FSAA???????

can anyone try to benchmark tf2 using the intel igpu?
not cause i plan to play without a discrete gpu forever but i will for a week or 2 before i get my dGpu and want to see what i should expect from playing tf2 with the iGpu
if possible with an 6th+ gen i5/i3

@smesi i average 80-120 fps in sixes with an i5 laptop, its playable but expect to play in 800x600 with a config on par with comanglias stable or mastercoms medium low/low

The biggest factor is the resoution, step up any higher and your fps tanks like a mf

EDIT: forgot to add I have two 1440p monitors in addition to my main 1080p 144hz

This seems low for my specs. Only things running are foobar2k playing music and mumble. Is there something else I'm missing? Or is this about right?

I'm not telling you how to live your life but I hope that 4.0 GHz are a WIP. If 4.0 is all you could get on a CPU that turbos to 3.9 you might want to try harder.

There are legitimate reasons to do a super mild "overclock" like this. Technically speaking if you go through the process of what most users go through and disable turbo and c states etc and do a small undervolt -50mV to -150mV possibly a larger decrease (personally haven't tried undervolting much) you can achieve a VERY stable system that'll have slightly higher idle temps but usually a significant max load temp decrease while still performing significantly better than stock. Also really good for those ultra quiet systems. I doubt phantom did this but it's not unheard of.

I actually did benchmark this a LONG time ago on a 4th gen i5 @ 4.5GHz where I was getting about ~90fps at 1440x900. This is going to depend a lot on the clock speed of the CPU but expect your framerate to be basically entirely bound to the iGPU. Lower resolution/textures/etc = better. Giving you an idea on what to expect for FPS is a bitch 800x600 with a stock 6th gen i5 ~120fps in the benchmark demo assuming you have medium-low mastercoms v6.9.0, no hats mod, + no explosion script, dxlevel 81 could be as high as ~140 but I have my doubts.

2.5% is not significantly better than stock.
If you're disabling c states to get a quieter system you're just shooting yourself in the foot, unless you're running at 100% load 24/7.
