From RGL WebsiteVenue
The RGL Season 2 LAN will be held at Helix eSports in North Bergen, New Jersey, right outside NYC. Helix made headlines recently due to their partnership with the NFL Patriots and the OWL team Boston Uprising (with whom they'll be opening the doors to a new Boston Esports Facility in January 2020). While RGL S2 LAN will be held at their original well-established location in North Bergen, New Jersey, we are still excited to be partnering with a growing Esports company like Helix. Here are some additional details from from Helix's website about the venue:Helix"With 150 permanent gaming stations, Helix eSports is the largest gaming center in the United States. Across our 6,500 square feet and 5 dedicated gaming rooms, our setups comprise of 110 state of the art HP Omen Gaming PCs, 35w PS4s, 10 Xbox Ones and 7 Nintendo Switches all connected to dedicated fiber internet.More information and photos of the venue can be found at their website.

Team Selection
The top 4 teams in RGL 6s Invite at the conclusion of the regular season must attend LAN. If a team does not attend, they forfeit their spot to the next highest ranked team willing to attend. Players who dodge LAN or sabotage their teams may receive RGL bans.

Players
Computers will be provided for all players on the invited teams. Players can bring their own peripherals to use at the event, and will be able to install their own configs onto the computer. Team Check-in opens at 9AM and is due by 10AM on both days. All 6 players of each team will need to be present for team photos during the check-in process.

Spectators
Spectator Passes will be available for purchase online or at the venue. These will cost $20, and will provide:
- Access to the venue on Saturday March 28th and Sunday March 29th
- 2 hours worth of PC use at base ($12 value)
- The ability to purchase additional hours at 50% off ($3/per hour)
- Dedicated spectating area to watch matches, as well as over the shoulder spectating
Please note that spectators who create disturbances or interference with a match or the event will be ejected from the event without refund and may face an RGL league ban.
For this first LAN RGL is focused on running a smooth invite playoffs tournament, but if the community is interested in running their own events or PUGs, they may feel free to organize it.

Travel
Helix eSports is a 20 minute drive from Newark Airport (EWR). JFK, LaGuardia, and Westchester County Airport are also nearby options for flights. Players should arrange their own transport to the event.

X-Post from RGL discordThe RGL team has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation in regard to our 2020 RGL LAN Playoffs event. We are all aware of the unique circumstances that people across our country and globe are facing in regard to COVID-19.

As of today (03/12), the New Jersey authorities are enforcing the cancellation of all public gatherings consisting of more than 250 individuals. This is to combat the spread of the virus in the state, where there has been a statewide total of 29 positive cases (6 occurring today). Our projected attendance numbers will fall well below the 250-individual limit, however restrictions may be tightened as we approach the day of the event. It is possible for the event to be cancelled for reasons outside of Helix or RGL’s control, so any relevant information will be relayed to the community as it becomes available.

Currently, Helix eSports has no plans on closing and will continue to maintain operations. Given this information, we have not formally cancelled plans for the LAN event, but this is not a fixed decision. The possibility remains that the event could be cancelled at any point, and in light of this we encourage the following courses of action for the community:
  • For all attendees, we suggest purchasing travel insurance with a “Cancel For Any Reason” policy. We would also recommend choosing or changing travel plans to accommodate for possible cancellation. Any future expenditures you make should be made under the assumption that refunds could be required.
  • Any prospective spectators who have not already committed to travel costs should avoid doing so, and are discouraged from attending the event.
  • Those in attendance should be mindful of hygiene and risk minimization strategies.

At RGL, we want to prioritize a safe environment for our players, and will not plan to host the LAN if we feel it poses a significant danger to the community. At this point, the LAN is still scheduled but we are closely monitoring the situation. Expect further updates through our various platforms, thank you to everyone for their flexibility and support during this time of great uncertainty.

How would a ban for dodging lan work at all? someone could just say "sorry i have a family event that day" and theyre absolved of anything, that seems like an idle threat.

I hope all of the players from the top 4 invite teams will be able to attend. Obviously if somebody knows in advance they cannot attend and teams find replacements for LAN I dont really mind. The situation would be different if a player/team ghosted the event, which is mainly what I was referring to.

bearodactylYea not gonna lie I kinda wanna book stuff and plan this out cuz it sounds hype but after the last two big NA lans imma wait this one out a lil....

which were both organized by the same people who were very clearly the cause of those issues.

I wouldn't project your (warranted) trust issues into these group of guys, give them your support and a fair shot to prove themselves, that's more important than spreading a message of false hope imo

does dodging lan mean saying you're gonna go and then dipping or does saying you're not gonna go in advance without baiting your team still count? because banning someone for the latter seems kinda scuffed it that's the case
