lmaoing @ teams protesting RedBull being too fast

from the article it doesn't seem like that big a change, though a lot of the wording is really confusing. Also why add an extra .2 seconds after everything is signaled done before the driver can leave? If you're adding minimum times to do everything and signal, that seems kinda overkill.

Weird how any time Mercedes happens to have a competitor some magic new rule by FIA appears out of no where, and it's never penalizing them. This has been going on for years now, mmmhh....

Unpopular opinion but I think the rule isn't a bad one.

When a wheel is being changed and gunned on it has to be attached firmly and once that's done the pit crew member can say their step is complete.

This rule is saying that if they complete their stage (Gunning on) and give the signal within 150ms of each other then it's registered as incomplete as its seen as not possible to react this quickly for this process and therefore the pit crew member must have essentially gave their signal for the process to be complete before it actually was . And therefore they have to repeat the step because its possible that actually that wheel isn't on correctly.

I don't know the rules ins and out but I'm assuming that somewhere it already says that the wheel has to be secure and then for the signal to be given so unless RedBull aren't doing this currently its not gonna change their pit stop times.

I don't believe for a second that this is some sort of Mercedes conspiracy nor do I believe its to nerf RedBull. If anything I would believe this is pressure from Pirelli.

russells never gonna score a point again is he

also the lando penalty is odd. you could argue whether it was a penalty or not, but stewards have consistently let that sort of thing slide for years. only difference seems to be that there was gravel rather than tarmac runoff and checo lost a bunch of places

Well lets see if they are consistent, they have to give perez a penalty since they gave lando one for a very similar incident

last season in 17 races lando had 97 points,
he has 101 after 9 this season.

He's actually so good

The first sprint race is a litte over an hour away. Im not exactly fond of the idea but let's see how it goes
edit: Well it was definitely entertaining by virtue of being a short race but I just really don't dig the starting grid being decided by it. Imagine putting your soul into a qualifying lap only to get nudged off the next day, get a mechanical failure or getting PIRELLI'D and having to eat shit on sunday.

I think you can blame the driver that was behind, on the dirty side of the track, missing the apex, understeering into his opponent.

honestly Ive seen the fia turn a blind eye to this shit too often
I think what really solidified the penalty was that he tried to overtake a car he knows has superior cornering ability from behind at COPSE
it was bold, and you can't tell a racer not to be bold, but it was't very smart of him
didn't really help that he missed the apex and ran wide as well as you mentioned
hoping max is okay, the next two circuits should suit red bull well
