Some of the bans mentioned sound unreasonable in length, but if you are being a moron for no reason other than to fuck with the guy, you are kind of asking for it.

Banning in people who are dicks in pubs isnt that unreasonable, if ur a retard to a streamer in a pub and they saw u in their stream chat nobody would complain about banning them.
Yea the admins are fucking children who like to rip their dicks off banning people who beat them (simba banning sac and drezzo) but if u just ignore them you'll have no problems. (actually very massively contradicted myself here im a fucking idiot lmao)
There's no point in complaining, nothing will ever change.
It's so much fucking worse when u get people boasting about being banned for saying stupid shit in chat like who cares thats the norm.

They're still passive-aggressive circlejerking dickwads in the end though

Why the fuck y'all getting mad about whether or not you get to play in that cancer AIDS website? The games are trash, comms are trash, the anti adblock is trash and the community is trash. Hell, isn't that at least part of the reason why you're all going off on them to begin with?

You've got alternatives, better alternatives. There's no reason to continue associating yourselves with something that deep down you don't really enjoy. Yeah, they're terrible, no shit, but they stay in their lane. Not like they have any power anywhere that actually matters.

because tf2center is basically your "first day of school in first grade" and you're all hyped and stuff to discover this new thing called school/competitive tf2, you take your first step through the door and get hit by a bully swinging a chair at you
most new players go through tf2c and they have to deal with this shit just as much as we do - difference is they can't really opt for the alternatives, safe for pro league beginner...

TF2C is not an extension of ETF2L, ESEA, UGC, TFTV or any other professional league/community that takes itself seriously. Attempts at a merger have failed in the past due to disagreements. I understand the passionate desire for the established competitive community to provide something of the degree TF2C provides, but one must wonder why previous attempts at it failed.

It is our community that is responsible for the barrier between pubbing and competitive. Years and years have shown that the average pubber will get disappointed when he discovers that he's not allowed to play a particular class, run particular unlocks or play a particular playstyle because it is "not meta". They can do this in TF2C. Is this why TF2C is popular but everything else attempted by the far more dominant, populous, well administered and global network of competitive TF2 ends up becoming unpopular? I don't know, but it at the very least warrants a "maybe".

Whatever it is TF2C is doing, however cancer it may be to us, it works. You claim that they are turning people away from the competitive scene but I claim that they have enabled more clueless pubbers to have a taste of it than anything anyone else did. I don't fucking like them but I'm not interested in a circlejerking rant about them which will accomplish nothing more at the end of the day than us feeling good about ourselves about sticking it to "the man".

Have some self-awareness and wonder why they might regard us with hostility.

honestly if you call an admin a slur in a pub purely because they're an admin you should probably be banned. perma is stupid but for at least for some amount of time

https://i.imgur.com/FzWgAD2.png

in other news i guess the reason we havent had a tf2c ban thread in a while is that there aren't any admins left

One reason that it is so popular is because you can easily play a game of any gamemode - 9v9, 6v6, 4v4, 2v2. There is something for everyone, while the rest of the 'pug' systems provide 6s only. You can only expect quality games (defined by players' skill) in the gamemodes with least players but I've never really wrapped my head around why so many people have this uncontrollable desire to insult, trashtalk, bm etc. for their bad experience or even without any particular reason at all, and then complain about any consequences that come after (or boast, I'm not perspicacious enough to notice the subtle border between these two in this case). Sure, there might be some bans that were totally undeserved or just for longer than necessary but trashtalking someone in general, no matter if it is in casual or competitive, is just an unpleasant thing for some people to read, especially this:

I'm not defending anyone but I can see where the admins come from, and until people start thinking about their attitude, nothing else could be done for them except giving them the ban hammer.

Masternoob went and attended i58 in person. one weird thing i noticed is he never smiled at all. in all the funny clips that got posted, everyone else around is laughing and having a good time, and he's just sitting there like his dog got killed for some reason. it stuck with me

I got banned for having tf2.center on my name. They also banned any mentioning of "hlpugs" or "highlander pugs" on the site chat.

Wait so you got banned for doing something in a "harvest pub" ? Assuming that means you did something in a non-TF2C related environment and got punished for it in TF2C. They continue to reach new levels...

catfacei called an admin a mean name and got permanently banned. every admin on that website is a megalomaniac

We ran into each other on a pub and you told me about this thread.. Thought I might look into it :)

Turns out you had multiple previous chat bans and bans for things like medic trolling.. You were asked to make an unban request explaining why you should be unbanned.

You never did.

Besides, you've been using your ALT and stopped being a total dick to people. Keep up the good work!

crabfmy brother got me banned for a month for being named "heavy weapingas guy" in mumble

Way to take a really shitty thing your "brother" did and make it into basically fake news. Accounts were tied together by IP and received a login ban for this:
https://forums.tf2center.com/topic/15390-crab-f-steam-0142499582/?hl=76561198045264893
It was basically a dumb joke to lighten the tension of a shitty situation.

If you're going to be toxic as hell to a mod/admin on pub, in chat, wherever.. who doesn't know who you are, then what are you going to be like in lobbies to people who can't ban you?

Pretty much all bans are open to appeal https://forums.tf2center.com/forms/6-request-an-unban/

We just want people to have fun and enjoy lobbies. That's about it.

Do you really think that anyone is going to listen to your justifications for TF2center admin decisions given your track record?

The attempt to defend your fragile ego is funny though.
