It's strange people are getting this error even though the config sets it to 0 already.

Well I just use this config as a base and have commands more centered towards my own rig, only reason I asked here is because someone else had this same problem and you posted on reddit the solution was a command but didn't specify which one :P

so do I even need an autoexec anymore if I'm using a vpk file? I have all my class binds and everything in class cfg folders.

Nope you don't need it, the autoexec comes with the VPK

Kinda naive to this, but I would like to know what to put in the config to cancel the taunt menu with any button presses.
With previous configs (chris) I've been able to exit out of the taunt menu with mouse one/attack.
I don't know what made that happen but it was a great quality of life thing.

There was a discussion a while back (amongst many) that drew the conclusion that it was best for projectile-oriented gameplay to use cl_interp 0.0152;cl_interp_ratio 1 and cl_interp 0.0333;cl_interp_ratio 2.2 for hitscan oriented. Since always, most cfg's as default set the cl_interp_ratio to 1, but yours now argues that 2 is the most optimal choice. Having that in mind, would you advise onto sticking with 2 for all scenarios and just changing the cl_interp?

Those are probably wrong since cl_interp_ratio 2 does hit registration better than forcing it on those values. Don't force cl_interp though. Let cl_interp_ratio do the job.

Can you help me? TF2 seems to use less GPU than CPU. My CPU is somewhere 90% usage while my dedicated GPU is only at 20% and my integrated one at 1%. Is there any cvars to make TF2 use GPU more? This causes me frame drops.

Specs:

CPU: i3-4170 3.7 GHz
GPU: AMD Radeon (TM) R5 M330
Intel HD Graphics 4400
Resolution(TF2): 1280x720

Preset

Also in the maxperformance preset, isn't r_worldlightmin 1.1 too much?

There is a mod that adds dxlevel 10 and higher support. Is there any difference? How does it work?

According to the author of this, you just uncompress the zip in your TF2 folder and put -dxlevel 101, 111 or 120 in launch options
DirectX9 Extended (-dxlevel 98) theorically adds many DX10 features already. Having -dxlevel 101 actually reduces framerate compared to dxlevel 98 for me.
About 5-10 fps worse for me in benchmark, results might vary depending on your card.

The default config already focuses on balancing load more on the GPU more than the CPU. The igpu preset reverses this. There's not much else you can really do in terms of cvars, it's just how the game was made. However, there are a few launch options you might be able to tweak. So, what are the ones you currently use?

The framedrops are another issue though.

I agree about maxperf, I'll add that to stripped instead.

It doesn't work, doesn't add anything. It just sets some commonly used cvars.

Hello what command or commands affect the speed of facial flexes? I've noticed mine aren't smooth and skip parts of the animations.

Edit: I think it might have been related to a sound setting, I removed all of the commands that affect sound and it stopped being a problem.

It's phonemes.
Use

phonemefilter 0.1 // Box filter phonemes for slightly longer
phonemesnap 2 // Cross fade phonemes on closer LODs

6.2.0 released with bug fixes, documentation updates, new bad CPU and transparent viewmodel addons, performance improvements, and various other improvements.

Thanks for the great config. I have a question: in the contributing section, you write that in order to test changes for the config, you need to measure your average FPS in a bot match and in a casual match. How do you measure your average FPS in a match? Do you need a 3rd party programs?

Downside is having sound a bit delayed but deffo recommend testing it for AMD FX owners like me.
I guess multi-thread optimizations aren't as good in AMD FX processors?
