Only spoke to Miggy a few times, it was obvious from the conversations I had he had an overwhelming passion for the community and for TF2, a very sad day for this game. RIP.

Miggy used to talk to me a lot about various ideas for LANs and such. Very passionate guy who really cared about growing TF2. So sad to hear this. :(

I never got to know Miggy too well, but he seemed like a nice guy the handful of times I ran into him. My thoughts and feelings are with his family.

I just want to say miggy talked to me when he started ferocity gaming. And we use to talk all the time about lans and meeting up. And I'll never forget after he got over his fear of flying he always wanted to host a big tf2 Lan (bigger then flan, this was before rewind). And he was talking to me about maybe we should host a Lan somewhere more north so more people to come and have a fun time. And when sideshow started the Lan Brainstorming Discord , he told me he's going to try and get something rolling. Dudes biggest dream was to make everyone in the tf2 community happy, make a big Lan event , and have everyone come together at a Lan.
Fuck cancer man rip my friend
I'll be going to your celebration of life get together.

Dude had the biggest heart

So hard to think Miggy went from being mostly fine 5-6 months ago when I was talking to him about the next season of 2 catch a hecker, to dying just yesterday...

Seriously though Miggy went in for cancer screenings regularly after his first bought always came back negative, and this suddenly happens QQ

I came to know Miggy when we started TF2Stadium. He was one of original members of the development team, and put his heart and soul into anything TF2. He knew virtually everything about the technical aspects of the game, and helped us in countless ways during development. Miggy would spend hours on the anti cheat team, analyzing demos tick by tick with amazing precision (his videos on cheat detection are incredibly good). I still remember our late night mumble meetings, and how his humor would have the entire room frequently erupt in fits of laughter. Contributing whatever I could to the competitive TF2 community has profoundly changed my life, and I will never forget the part Miggy played in it. For a guy of his dedication, talent, and personality, the community has lost an invaluable member, and I can only imagine the grief his family must be going through.

Rest in peace Miggy, you'll be sorely missed.

May he rest in peace.

I hope his family gets to read this and find out the positive effect he had on so many people.

Rest In Peace miggy. I don't really have a story about how miggy was my friend and changed my life, but from seeing all the hard work he put into the game, it's obvious that he was a great person. Great people should get what they want.

Say hi to grandpa for me

a great man who i had the pleasure of playing on a tiny shitty steel team with, miggy was a really great guy. me and others will miss him very much.

RIP

P.S. there's a ugc thread where people are leaving their memories of him, feel free to comment on that if you'd like

Where was this posted, originally?

I am at a total loss for words right now. Given how Miggy talked to me in our last conversations, he seemed to have a sense this was coming, but I didn't believe it. To honour Miggy's life and spirit, the only thing coming to me is some sort of get-together tribute. That could be at RGB/FITES in March, or it could be sooner. Either way, flan will be served.

Miggy cared so much for the community. His generosity for making LAN happen in FL was touching, all out of his own pocket. Most giving person I've ever known. He used his talents and money for great things. I remember shaking his hand when I first arrived, thanked him so much for making the FLan happen before I even did anything. Rest in peace friend.

Miggy and I didn't always get along but he did good work for the community and overall was a swell guy, unfortunate he's passed.

After internethulk passed away, blizzard made him a little memorial inside the german map to pay their respects to the dude, even created a league award in his honor.

By reading this thread, miggy seemed to care so much and did a lot for this game, this is trully a huge loss for the TF2 community. And yet valve gives zero shits about it. Not a single blog post, nothing. Sometimes it's pretty hard to think this game does not deserves to be dead. But this would be a great disrepect for all the things that people like miggy did.

I never really got to know Migi but this is pretty unfortunate. My thoughts go out to his friends and family. I hope they'll be able to get through his passing alright.

There will be a service for him tomorrow morning streamed online at 11:30am est, more details to be released soon. I've been asked to restream it, not sure who to talk to regarding the TF.tv stream these days, but it'd be great if we could get it restreamed there too.

Regarding Valve, give them time.

RIP Miggy

Absolutely crushing to hear this. No I never met Miggy, as tbh I was never good enough in this game to even come close to him in any pug, team etc, because of how good he was. I saw all he did for the community, in spotting cheaters, organizing Flan, and probably much more that I'm unaware of. From what I do know, he helped shaped this community a lot. I barely play tf2 myself anymore, but I still check these forums in my precious spare time, because It's always cool to see what's going on. This community is fucking awesome, and I have to say that Miggy is one of the few people that stick around in my mind when I think of TF2's competitive side. This community won't be the same without him.

Thanks Miggy.
