My tiny involvement (hosting/updating i58.tf alongside vibhavp who dev'd it in less than three weeks) made me feel so welcome at i58 and helped me start a few conversations with the awesome people present at the event. It was an experience I did not expect and will definitely not forget.

This is why I'd also like to offer my help.

My day job is programming, mostly back-end web, natural language processing, also dabble in front-end when it's needed. I prefer using python.org, haskell.org and elm-lang.org when starting new projects, but I'm able to work with php/cpp/java/js given enough time.
I'm also knowledgeable using Linux/UNIX systems, hosting TF2/source/mumble servers, networking computers, all of it self-taught.
I used to write a lot during high school, mostly short stories but also papers although I am definitely rusty (as you can see from the i58.tf landing page's text contents).
I'd love to try to learn stream production and camerawork, but my current internet connection won't allow me to do 720p60fps.

I'd be able to dedicate a half-dozen hours of work per week, or so.

I'll definitely be working on internet coverage for the next big TF2 events either way.

I would be down for some camera work. I mainly play Overwatch now, but would still love to be around.

Seeing as this has been bumped quite a bit, are video editors still in demand? I have a bit of a background as it was once a very active hobby of mine.

I very much so enjoy talking and discussing what happens during matches and games, so I feel writing would be the best position for me. I watch almost every game live and the ones that I miss, I make sure to watch the entire vod of. I'm taking a college-level course to improve my writing/English/grammatical at the moment as well. I've written a few articles/additions to the tf2 scene, most recently updating b4nny's comp.tf profile of his current team Froyotech.

"Season 22 Started out very well for Froyotech. With Clockwork leaving for OW, Blaze returned to the team on roamer and Paddie transitioned to scout. Only two weeks into the season the team's medic Ninjanick decided to leave for OverWatch, the team then picked up Phorophor who had recently been cut from RONIN and picked up by Bird Noises as to almost immediately replace Ninjanick on Froyotech.. Along with this change, B4nny decided to play scout with Paddie on pocket. With i58 just a few months away, Blaze became unable to attend the lan. The team decided to pick up TLR on pocket pushing Paddie back over to his original position on the team, roamer. The team pushed through the season doing very well and coming in as first seed for the season. With the playoffs kicking off, their first match was against EVL gaming, an easy roll for Froyotech. Then came the Upper Bracket Finals, Ronin had beaten Froyo black in the lower bracket finals so they needed to win two best of three's straight in order to dethrone Froyotech. Froyotech came out on a rough start, losing the first Best Of Three 2-0 in maps, they looked to make changes in the second. It started off rough, losing on snakewater to Ronin in the first map they were on a three map loss streak with low morale. The team then made a quick return to take the next two maps, granting them the season 22 invite champions title.

At i58 the team performed extraordinarily well but not as dominant as the previous Froyotechs in the I-series lands. The team came in third place during the group stages, not dropping any games but instead tieing two games, one against Jasmine Tea the Australian wonders and the other against Full Tilt. With day two starting the team was prepared to give the people some games to watch. In the morning they beat Xenex in two quick maps, advancing to fight Jasmine Tea. Froyotech then took two close maps from Jasmine Tea in succession. They continued on to be matched against Crowns Esports in the Upper Bracket Finals, Froyotech just narrowly lost 2-1 in maps against Crowns to be forced into the Consolation finals. They met Full Tilt there, who they had previously tied against in round one of group stages. Full tilt then proceeded to win one map, with Froyotech striking back to take the second. The third map was a nail biter, each team taking one round after the other had done so. With only a minute left Full tilt was up a round and on their own last defending for their spot in the grand finals. Froyotech made the push but failed to accomplish what they were looking for, with the game ending directly after the push had ended, Froyotech was granted third place and the players returned home."

Of course this only took me about ten minutes to do, other than that I have written a few personal papers about the game or competitive scene and feel I am correct for the position. Put me in coach :)

I'd be down to try and cast/help out with whatever. I have limited casting experience, and my PC should be good enough to be able to camerawork as well. I am available pretty much whenever barring that I am awake, so I can stay awake super late if the need arises.

I'd be making a debut casting live but i've shoutcasted a few demos with buddies over the last few years, availability fits, i do have a quality microphone and I've had my voice described as "rather buttery." I've been playing the game competitively for about three years and a total of around 6 casually, I've also kept up with almost every competitive match in the last year that was streamed on tf.tv

Now that my work schedule means I cannot play, I am more than willing to stream for tftv or anyone who needs a streamer. I am especially interested in bringing IM/high open play to the masses.

Twitch bandwidth test says 10000+kbps to all servers except Miami (fuck florida), I have a computer that can handle 1080p/30 or 720p/60 (and thinking about getting a second computer for dual streaming), I am familiar enough with the game to be able to capture action and I know enough JS to do some nodecg work (though nothing compared to the excellence that has been the norm for a while on tftv). HMU.

Hey dudes we're lookin for writers, specifically NA but possibly EU as well - I'll have to check with the illuminati on that.

As listed in the first post's spoiler, requirements for writers are:

  • general following of current events
  • ability to quickly write and format articles for publication
  • good writing and grammar skills
  • availability to watch and succinctly recap major games and events in a timely fashion
  • previous writing experience

You don't have to worry about memorizing the style of our articles, we've got a list of writing guidelines for reference.

If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, you can PM me on TFTV or Steam.

If there's still any spots open for analytics in casting I would like to try my hand since my matches are done relatively early. I don't have any uploaded matches except for mae and the meyymeyys vs milters, but I did cast a bit last season, and I have been watching demos and online casts a lot.

Big thanks to everyone who already applied, I just want to bump this one last time to say we're still looking for some more color casters, so if you're knowledgeable about the game, and you think it'd be fun to talk on stream (it is), send me an add, and we'll see about getting you on some games. Color casting is a great way for people to enjoy the game without having to commit to a team, and I strongly recommend giving it a try to anyone who isn't playing this season!

As some people may have noticed, the number of ESEA games getting casted recently has dropped a bit. While there are LOADS of really talented people willing to cast right now, the lack of coverage is coming mainly from our lack of people willing to do production for the stream. If this is something you'd be interested in trying out, I urge you to add me on steam or shoot me a pm here on tftv to let me know! We'll be able to get you set up with everything you'll need, and you'll be able to train with an experianced producer for a couple of weeks before you get thrown up onto the main stream.

A few requirements before you apply:

  • Good interenet
  • Basic streaming and TF2 knowledge
  • Availability during regular Invite match time (Tues/Wed/Thurs at 11pm est)

Thanks for your time, you can get a hold of me at the links below!
