how come sometimes i win, nobody leaves but the match doesnt count towards anything at ALL, it doesnt increase games played/stats/EXP and it doesnt show up in my history
is the game i played like a ghost game that was simply in my imagination
like 4 of the games that i played today have not counted towards XP or stats and do not show in my history

2 medics is actually so stupidly good that I feel for the players back in 2007 who were experimenting 6v6 meta.

in casual or competitive? sometimes this happens to me in casual and it looks like the next game you play will reward you for both games XP at the same time

FUCK having to play with 54 fov when you can't even disable viewmodels. it feels like i can only see on half my screen.
Honestly annoys me enough to not feel like playing it anymore.

Daffodil-The decision to have no placement matches really confuses me to be honest, it is creating a situation in which it will take a VERY long time for people to settle into appropriate rankings.

honestly in its current state I don't see how someone can enjoy playing mm with the express intention of winning it's only really fun when you have at least a 4 man party and are just fucking around anything else is just infuriating

and for real the server matchup needs to be fixed I only play with americans and have played in luxembourg and brazil twice

This goes for casual play but you cant vote kick. Played with an aimboter, half of the enemies left. And we spent the rest of the match spawncamping becuase no new players and no autobalance

im pretty disappointed valve released matchmaking as it is
if it was still in beta i'd understand but they released it basically the same as it was before without addressing any of our concerns
how you can forget to add a maxping command is just beyond me

Setlet2 medics is actually so stupidly good that I feel for the players back in 2007 who were experimenting 6v6 meta.

am i the only one who hasn't been impressed with double medic? I only solo-queue so coordination is off, but giving up a pub heavy or soldier for a bit of extra heals just seems like a bad trade. I'm sure at a decent skill level it becomes more beneficial, but in MM it really seems like one medic is more useful than 2

Ikr! Every other comp game has them! League, OW ...

It's not too late to add placements tho...

I'm assuming they didn't do placement matches because they didn't expect enough players to be available

Its been a while since I've played CSGO MM but iirc placement matches prefer playing other placement players, and given the small size of the current MM player base, this wouldn't work well. Combined with this, rankings in tf2 seem to be a lot more superficial than in CS. Your rank should basically always be going up in tf2 even if you maintain a .5 W/L because of medals so even bad players should eventually hit DM. Compared to CS it seems like ranks (at least right now) aren't very important in the MM process.

maybe they'll patch it idk

lack of placement matches is absolutely infuriating for a mediocre player like me, when I win they abandon when I lose everyone stays, so I've almost given up on mm entirely.

my biggest problem with the beta was the lack of people in their proper ranks, but I expected that to be fixed upon release but the only changes I can see are 1. the matching system actually works and 2. it has a shiny new UI, but ragdolls / blood / decals / phong are all still locked, and the tfteam's reasoning behind that is just dumb.

over all my game feels a bit smoother but I'm dropping down to 20 frames in firefights which is frustrating. i would probably enjoy this update more if the commands weren't restricted and if there were placement matches, but so far this update has been a pretty big disappointment. i hope that the heavy vs pyro update will be (edit): better, 'good' implies that this update wasnt good, it was alright imo but in regards to my expectations it didn't quite deliver

ps sorry for ranting

Most people don't mind viewmodels in other games because they actually look nice and are usually positioned appropriately by default. Since they're not in tf2, I don't see why they wouldn't allow people to change the x, y, and z positions, like people have already mentioned. It especially doesn't make sense that they didn't implement these commands, bc csgo, another fps game they created, has them, and they're forcing viewmodels for the same reasons obviously (even though no one really minds viewmodels in csgo). The minmode viewmodels somewhat remedies the issue of viewmodels being too intrusive, but they honestly just look silly. How is that any more professional, neat, or more familiar to new players than being able to change your viewmodel size and/or x, y, z positions with fair maximum and minimum limits?

I've also never had a problem with ragdolls in any other game I've played, but sometimes in tf2 I can't insantly tell if I killed the person. It only seems sufficiently justified to either allow people to turn off ragdolls or redo the ragdoll animations upon death. I suppose the kill sound is a nice addition since you'll always hear if you killed them. I still think the ragdolls in tf2 are a bit strange though.

TF2 has weird ragdolls because they don't really have an animation, they just fall over. Sniper ragdolls are fine imo because they have an animation where the head snaps back and its clear you hit the shot

CorsaMost people don't mind viewmodels in other games because they actually look nice and are usually positioned appropriately by default.

exactly this. in cs, quake, reflex and even ow the viewmodels are pretty unobtrusive but models like the rl and scattergun in tf2 take over the whole screen.
then again, tf2 lets you change viewmodel fov without restrictions (up until now in mm..) which is something i wish other games allowed
