It's finally happening, after years of waiting, it's coming out in November and you can pre-purchase it on the website: http://ninox.org/ninox-aurora.html

If you're not up to date on why this mouse is so good, read this:
http://esreality.com/post/2487925/new-gaming-mouse-development-part-2/

I can imagine a lot of people here will just say "why is it better than zowie/deathadder/etc?"
So here's a list of reasons why it can match (and beat) current top mice.

    Price - €37 / £29 / $46
Switches - Omron mouse1 and mouse2, Huano side buttons
    Sensor - ADNS-3090, 4000 DPI SROM
Cord - 2.2m, rubber cord (not braided)
    Size - 118 x 61 x 38 mm (think maybe G100s size)
Weight - 70g without cord (lighter than top mice by far, deathadders are about 105g)
    LOD - 2mm
Software that doesn't fuck everything up by installing it

I'm gonna be getting one because I have a G100s and this is essentially just a better version of it.

Yesssssss
A solid replacement for my DA2013 when it eventually gets too old. Might just straight up get this and keep my DA as a backup.
EDIT: Pre-ordered one

i remember 4m/s in the thread, that was a while ago tho

"What about the "Velocity" mouse and the A3050 sensor?

At the moment both of these are on hold. The decisions were made because:
- The A3050 is not worth the small saving over the A3090 because its simply not as good.
- The Velocity shell, while nice, is OEM, and I would prefer to move away from OEM shells ASAP, simply because they aren't as stylish or as customisable as I would like the future products to be."

Holy moley I've wished for a light mouse with a good sensor and side buttons for a long time. I can't wait to try it.

€46.66 current cost with shipping to get to me; about $60

Pretty damn good deal considering the shipping from the UK

-edit-
fuck these pain meds are screwing with me...

Grand Total Excl. Tax $60.19
Grand Total Incl. Tax $60.19
Subtotal $40.84
Shipping & Handling (International - Royal Mail International Tracked and Signed) $19.35 (I live in Nebraska could be more for West coast or less for East coast)

I remember the ridiculous hype for "bst's mouse" which was going to be the perfect best mouse ever and usurp every other gaming mouse because it was made by a quake player.

I think if it had been released earlier it would've been amazing but with the advent of other similarly performing, similarly styled mice like the g100s and kinzu v3 between announcement and release I really don't think it's that exceptional.

What was once an impressive "feature", the avago 3090, is now pretty much an accepted standard amongst new fps-oriented mice, although it is probably the cheapest 3090 option on offer. But then again, the performance difference between it and the 3050 in similar mice is negligible.

In the end I would say it's still marginally the best mouse of its shape and price point. However it's probably not worth buying to replace your old mouse (unless you're a big nerd) and the performance doesn't stand out from other top tier offering such as the g400 or the zowies.

70 grams G100s is 82.5g, G400s is 104g, Zowie Fk is 90g, Razer DA is 105g

g400, g400s, Zowie FK, and Razer DA can't track at 5 m/s
Omron Switches unlike the Zowies
Cheaper than any of them
Assuming the Driver Software holds the promise of fucking nothing up it's automatically the best

Too bad it doesn't have a 3310 sensor :( Definitely an upgrade to the 3090.

If you're looking to upgrade from the G100 you might want to consider the G402, which uses the same sensor but fixes the low max tracking speed (basically can do any speed humanly possible without problem) and has the same extremely low button latency.
