i know it's never too late to change this, but i regret letting tf2 become my main hobby. i really enjoy djing and making (shitty) music, but i don't put nearly the same effort into that as i do tf.

Sometimes I think about how if I took the time I spend playing games and put it into my composing I could have written some pretty amazing stuff. 1200 minecraft hours (the dark days), 1800 tf2 hours, 100s of hours of various other games... I'd be really good at composing. That's not to say games aren't something seriously awesome. It's just a different kind of awesome than doing something productive.

I dunno.

I'm in a similar boat as you (musician etc. etc. etc.), but I don't think it's quite 100% equivalent, unless you have serious problems. It's more likely that that time would've been spent doing something awesome (or less awesome) but not "productive" (creative?). It's also much more about balancing time correctly, and a lot of people have problems doing that well.

Ate chinese food for dinner while away from home. Within 10 minutes, it became apparent that deuces were wild and coming in hot. Sat on a public toilet without the typical care and precision due to the emergent nature of why I was there. Lowered myself onto the toilet only to be greeted by my junk taking a dive in 25°f water.

I'm pretty sure I could jump into 50 of the nastiest hookers on Earth and I'd feel cleaner than that awful day.

Not studying harder in high school and essentially wasted 2 years of college at a community college, but on the bright side, I did give my liver probably 5 more years of life span after witnessing how much cheap alcohol my friends put in their system

I regret the way I treated most people in this community, and portraying myself as a completely different person than who I am in real life. I was still a kid back then, and it is unfortunate that I will be remembered as that toxic competitive person who couldn't see past their ego in this game. Quitting the game for a few months really makes oneself sober up from all the negative emotions attached.

regret realizing that having fun and just starting stuff is the crucial shit. trying to make your existence about efficiency and relative minmaxing is no way to live; feeling good and happy comes about naturally if you do the first bit. Ticking shit off of a list to turn your life around means nothing if it the concepts you learned didnt stick around.

I regret overindulging in things I didn't fully understand, thinking I knew everything better than anyone else
I regret holding onto relationships that were detrimental to me because they were the only ones I had
and I regret never focusing on myself, only what other people think of me
