Anyone else plan on flying? This is my first LAN and I'm trying to plan out everything, and I've realized I have no idea what I'm doing.

Flying with your PC is never a good idea. It has been done, with varying amounts of success. I bought myself a gaming laptop (120hz woo!) since I travel for LANs at least a few times per year. If I were you I'd pickup a laptop if you can afford it (and especially if you think you would want to travel for LANs in the future). If that's not an option see if you have any friends who are driving to the LAN if they have an extra PC you can borrow.
If you must fly with your PC, here are a few things I've seen work in the past:
For the first big GXL, my friend Thursday took his PC apart and repacked the components into their original boxes, and took them as his carry on. I had an extra case and we rebuilt his system in my extra case when he got here.
For one of the Atlanta LANs thrickster was able to fit his whole tower inside his carry on bag. I'm pretty sure he packed the inside of the tower with clothes and towels for added protection.
NEVER check your PC. Have you ever seen how the guys handle luggage at the airport???

I'm going to bring my roommate Lauren with me. She's never been to a LAN before, and she did inquire about what a LAN really is after the last two I went to. I figure that this would be a fun one to show her.

Threads like this make me really sad about living in the middle of no where, Canada.
700$ flight, and then I'd have to deal with getting my pc there in one piece.
Just wouldn't be financially sound for me :/ Otherwise i'd love to go, have fun everyone!
