You guys warned me
Gemm, moralexei and others, oh yeah I still remember
But no I never truly listened did I

Honestly, at this point, I feel like more people hate me now than they did when I made the server
And this is not just from recent drama, this is ongoing
I feel like people have more beef with me for trying to make an all-inclusive chill place for people to play together

I never wanted beef with anyone, and I don't hate anyone even today but I feel so bad when I meet up with people that I was chill with and I looked upto, now they have unfathomable resentment or something against me. You can feel that shit between the lines, even when they talk politely.

It's hit me that the more you know me, the less you would want to
I understand everyone atleast finds me cringe and bad at the game - yeah sometimes I do shit without critically thinking and I make mistakes, sometimes really damaging ones I wish I could take back, but now it feels like I've burnt too many bridges and that fire is spreading

When I first joined the community from i65 it was such a good feeling and I wanted to keep being happy like that, but now I don't think I can be that person anymore. People used to come and enjoy my streams because I used to smile all the time, and now I'm embarrassed to even turn on my face cam and pretend

I've never been that guy to give up but I know when I'm unwanted man, it sucks to have come to this
Hell even ingame I fucking suck man, I've been stagnant at the same skill level for over a year and I can't get any better even with all the luxury and perks of being me
I don't want to give up rahmix due to my own selfish reasons and be emo about if - I know there isn't anywhere else for EU 6s and I don't want others to suffer for myself if they enjoy playing on rahmix

I like to help people, and I like when people come together like it was lan but idk if i want to even go to the next one
I really like to play this game but It's like I'm also done with it too
I really wish I could go back and make ammends man, I don't want to be a sour taste and be ill-spoken of

What do I do? I don't want to be remembered with bad connotations, I want people to think good of me and I'm always trying to work towards that
Need help guys, sorry that im posting my life story on a tftv thread

as with every single post like this it comes down to if you don't enjoy the game, don't play the game.

if ur stressed out by pressures from the community/rahmix or whatever then just relax and play the game with your friends for fun instead of trying to be the main character of tf2, u cant please everyone. i don't know or care what the drama is but it definitely seems like u spend too much time thinking about what other people think of u, and nothing good has ever come mentally for anyone who is constantly worrying about that

This game and what we all have seen/want this place to be will wreck your mental if you let it, like BumFreeze said you can't please everyone. Just keep in mind the people giving you stress have zero bearing on your daily life. People I don't even know or have never even talked to in TF2 have beef with me. I'm sure my "reputation" isn't great in some circles, and haven't the slightest clue why except for some dumbass posts. Do I let it bother me? Sometimes. Hard not to in certain situations. In the end, they're a stranger under an alias with a bad attitude I'll never knowingly meet face to face.

If you're expecting to hear a very detailed specific way to save face for yourself for some transgressions; you're not going to get what works out for you here. Most everybody here is posting hangry, steaming from their own grievances like your own and because you're here, you're in the radius to get shit on to make themselves feel better. If you feel bad about having done something, then good you are experiencing life and while you should be learning from these; you shouldn't hold yourself to a degree where every possible random stranger should adore you.

People don't mind people that make mistakes, they mind when people don't learn from mistakes.

Hi Rahmed,

Rahmixes definitely reignited my interest in playing TF2 again, after most my friends who I used to play with quit throughout 2021 I decided back in July/August I had no interest at all to play anymore as the only option was tf2center lobbies on my own, so I also quit. It was around the end of October/November whilst scrolling through TFTV that I saw the platform you had made for mixes that was all inclusive which made me consider playing again, for someone who loves the competitive aspect of 6's with comms (not an option on tf2center) but also has far too erratic and unpredictable evening schedule to commit to a main roster of a team, rahmixes was the perfect platform for someone like me; I assume this to be the case for many others too.

As an open player, if it wasn't for rahmixes, I would never have gotten the chance to play alongside and against high level players who all, save for a few, take the games fairly seriously and ultimately care about winning. Whilst I appreciate that nothing replaces being on an actual team and competing in ETF2L for actual skill development, I would argue that rahmixes has provided much of that for me to an extent. People like Samski, Faust, Ympo, Bluee, PeterDC are definitely names that stick out in my mind, especially from my first week of using rahmixes, as always encouraging and patient with myself and other newer players. There is a plethora of other cool and genuinely nice people who are active on rahmixes: shout out KO and Spake.

From our small interactions on discord I think you are a super cool, friendly guy, you deserve a lot of credit for the platform you have built and the community that it has generated; playing rahmixes had landed me more team offers in the space of 4 months then in the previous 2 years... So genuinely thank you for making this and keeping it going. I do not know what the ultimate goal was for you with the creation of rahmixes, but if it was to have a mix platform that bridged the gap between all skill levels in the community that thrives with multiple games a day every single day since its inception then you have certainly achieved that goal.

My advice is to focus on the positives like all the above, but also to learn from the negatives, I am sure a lot of the negatives is unfortunately background noise from people who are yet to learn proper decorum, however amongst all that, there is probably a few things that are worthwhile to learn from.

Thanks again!

When you are in a position of authority over your friends you sometimes need to punish them for rulebreaking which can strain the friendship. You can't be friends with everyone as an admin and if you can't handle that you shouldn't become one.

YeeHawYou can't be friends with everyone as an admin and if you can't handle that you shouldn't become one.

I've been an admin for longer than I've been a player in multiple faces of the TF2 scene, and I can absolutely confirm this. The truth is you're not on the same side as everyone else, and that's something you have to understand, but most importantly accept. You are on the other side, the one people sometimes see as an "enemy", or someone "annoying" and "fun" to hold grudge against, 99% of the time because everyone does it, not because there's a logical reason.

My advice is to learn to play and enjoy the game like any other player, do your admin stuff whenever you have to, whatever it is, and don't beta/chicken out when you need to take action against people you know they need to be taken action against. After all you're the one providing, running and maintaining a place for people to play quality mixes, so balance that shit out doing what you think it's best for your place, and your players.

The biggest issue with rahmixes is the lack of feedback that the average player can give, it feels like when a change is made it was because prem/d1 players got annoyed at something or you personally wanted something changed/removed.

This wouldn’t be a problem, but rahmixes is the ONLY place to play decent pugs in EU currently. Meaning that if a change occurs and you don’t like it, You just have to suck it up and deal with it. This leads to frustration and people getting angry.

Most players don’t hate you, but since you are (literally) the face of this huge platform people end up directing their frustrations with rahmixes at you.

On the whole, even though I don't agree with every decision that has been made on the server. I think that you've done a good job at providing a quality pugging platform, I do enjoy rahmixes and I hope that it can be sucessful in the future.

Rahmixes are still a great thing for the community especially EU 6s, it's just some people are frustrated at some things and rightly so. I have always thought that you get a lot of hate for indirectly trying to make things better but I believe it's just peoples way of giving their opinion, even if it involves being a prick sometimes.

It can't be easy being the admin and having all the hate directed at you but you have to remember that 90% of people love rahmixes and you're still doing a great thing by keeping these pugs running. I think most of the anger is due to the modding situation which is fair. Ignore the hate but do try to take on any feedback given to you. People play the pugs every day and most love them, so try not to focus on the people who don't.

RahmedHonestly, at this point, I feel like more people hate me now than they did when I made the server
And this is not just from recent drama, this is ongoing

If people disliked you from the start then the server wouldn't have taken off as it has.

RahmedI feel like people have more beef with me for trying to make an all-inclusive chill place for people to play together

Part of the issue with trying to build an inclusive community is you'll eventually run into people who want to exclude others. Or just don't get along. It's a paradox. No solution is satisfactory. An inclusive community has to exclude people eventually to remain inclusive for those marginalized or to avoid conflict.

Rahmedeverything

You're not enjoying the position you're in. Take a step back. This is a hobby. I wouldn't even stick with a job that would make me feel like this, but you're doing it for free.

Rahmixes don't need you to actively observe them. They'll keep going for a while without you

The feelings you're feeling have pushed away many many admins, devs, pug organizers, production, casters, etc.
Hopefully you find some comfort again and stick around. But for now clearly this isn't working for you and you're just going to burn out (you already have. let's be honest)

People don't dislike you. While I can't speak for everyone, to me you always appeared to be enthusiastic abt the comp scene and eager to help pubbers find out about it. You were keen to help with production etc. Clearly you found something that once gave you a lot of joy. Reminded me of Archrythm who started similarly only a couple years before you.
Right now it's not that anymore. So take a step back and take time to figure yourself out again

I had no clue you ever felt like this about rahmixes, or about tf2 as a whole...

i get that you're feeling horrible about certain people taking dislikes to you, and yeah some people will straight up dislike you for how you are as a player or even person, but you shouldn't let that discourage you from the fact you've built a nice mix community and that the hard work you've done on the server and keeping it alive and running hasn't gone unnoticed.

You've done great things with it and that's something you should be proud of and not let the haters get to you, as some above have mentioned, you can't satisfy everyone, but those who really appreciate what you do and who you are you should keep close towards you. Stay strong Rahmedigun. :)

you cant be letting people disliking you as an admin in your own discord server relate to people actually hating you as a person, and bro if you are gonna let stuff like this online get to your head you should just take a break or stop with being online as a whole since you are gonna get hated by many people online and there is nothing you can do about it, you cant expect everyone to love you, even people who are remembered as an amazing person still have an insane amount of people who didnt like them.

Ngl if your friends are putting you in awkward positions re: bans/timeouts on mixes etc and they don't understand/appreciate that because they have the mentality of "well Rah is my friend so I'll just be unbanned" then they're not being very good "friends"
