siyoIs there a way to transmit MGE scores to SourceTV based on who is being spectated? This would help a lot for future MGE tournament broadcasts.
Thank you!
Good question, I never messed with SourceTV, much less its HUD, I'll look into it.

fontarSuggestion - add a 1v1 Vampiric duel mode:
- Players would start fully overhealed
- Any damage dealt would be transformed into HP restored for the attacker (1:1 ratio)
- The round would start after 3-5 seconds, allowing both players to reach the center of the map
- The round ends and resets when a player dies
This is something Quake had for a very long time (ADHD mode) and it promotes raw movement and prolonged aim duels. The overheal and HP "lifesteal" are exactly like described in the points above, but the other 2 may be tailored more toward MGE and balancing as quake players have more of a gentleman's agreement on when they should start their ADHD duel.
It would probably work best for hitscan i.e. scout v scout, but would be interesting to see how it works for other weapons (soldier and demo).
This sounds very interesting, I'll look into it!
rentscan u make it so stickies get deleted after a round ends? rly aids to spawn in and get insta det on.
more of an issue in 2v2 from my experience.
yes
The title is clickbait, MGE is not being rewritten (sorta).
Hello! 5 months ago I started looking into fixing all of the annoyances I found in the MGE SourceMod plugin throughout the years as a 10-year-old MGE veteran.
This evolved into an MGEMod fork that started to gain attention and is currently being considered for usage in the upcoming MGE.tf seasons and tournaments.
There are too many changes to list here (full list in the repo) but here are the main ones:
It's intended to be a drop-in replacement for the original. Database updates happen automatically.
You can take a look at the code and latest releases here.
By making this post I want to start asking you guys to try the plugin out and spread the word, see if you find:
I've been dogfooding this project in my 3 MGE servers, and some arctic.tf servers already use it as well. The rate at which I find bugs and fix them is very slow, so I want more people using it and reporting bugs.
In the future I'd like this plugin to fully support not only 1v1 and 2v2 flawlessly without any bugs, but ultiduo and bball as well with no problems (I've already seen some but I seriously can't reproduce them alone), and be fully extensible and capable of interacting/interfacing with other plugins for new crazy ideas and modules that complement it.
Thank you. Please report any bugs as issues in the GitHub repo, or add me in Discord @amperetf and hit me up.
make sure not to mess with tf2's processing priority in the task manager
So sad to hear this. He was an insane inspiration to many of us diehard scout mains. May he rest in peace!
Hello guys, for the last month I've been working pretty hard on fixing and improving the MGE plugin with ideas and bug fixes I've identified over the years as a diehard MGE player, and I've reached a point where it's feasible to use it in a live server without any issues. I started mostly reworking the 2v2 system for it to be more comfortable and intuitive, but I implemented several fixes and features in the general scope of the gamemode as well. I'm inviting you to try out my changes, give your opinion on them, share ideas of features and bug fixes, and just overall provide suggestions of anything you wish related to the future of the plugin.
I'm already running this plugin on my Argentina server, and my two Brazil servers, and I've already reached the players over at triumph.tf and MGE.tf for them to provide suggestions and ideas as well. This post is me trying to spread the word further for the plugin to receive better and more diverse feedback.
Regarding translations, some of them have been created using AI. Feel free to provide corrections for them if they are needed.
Any issues, once again, let me know by posting here, or opening issues on the repo. Thank you!
ArchaeologynewDiGiTMGE servers have often been laggy in Asia. Some servers got broken after the 64bit update as well so I created this server for other MGE players.speaking of which why does UGC US mge stutter when i move in first person? i cant fix it at all and its been happening since the update
probably because they don't restart them every couple hours as they should be
february 2014, cp_dustbowl bot practice, too scared to go into an actual server, wanted to get familiar with the game first
boy do I have the place for you
glasslong time ago war started a series of how-to videos and in the first one he literally pointed out the meta place to stand on a process second hold, with disad or even, for each class, and why. i remember thinking, realistically to learn this game at a high level you either need a video like this for every map, point, and situation, or else just to be shouted at in pugs until you get it. there's not much in-between. it's a really hard game
This is such an eye-opener. The only way I could think of setting up a learning environment that actually teaches you literally everything you would need to know would be taking into account different concrete factors like uber ad, uber disad, your med dead, their med dead, numbers difference (of all individual classes), etc, and based on that knowing what to do, where to be, and why, as EVERY class, in EVERY part of EVERY map, WITHOUT taking into consideration the sinergy and playstyle consensus factor in your team. Although the possibilities branch out infinitely (or at least to an unreasonable enough amount to be teachable), by shrinking it down to the basics it kind of sounds to me like a good starting point for the player to later pickup the rest of the concepts by themselves.
Blackwonder MGE servers suffer from the same jittery experience, I've already complained and no one there knows what I'm talking about
