when you do a ctap you take more damage, which is representative of the extra boost/distance, so when a 27 dmg rocket jump goes the same as a 42+ dmg its not surprising that ctap is the same as those as well.

ctap has nothing to do with uncrouched vs crouched run speed thats a myth.

I'm in a server jumping with a rocket jumper and the jumps are much more consistent and a lot better then those with any other rocket launcher. Is this just me?

the ctap mechanic still works in the current version of tf2, it just wont make you go any further, and this is speculation but its because the boost from a rocket jump is at a set amount from a shitty job with the banner fix, it could be intended but I don't think so.

this set boost amount would make water jumps not work, speedshots a lot weaker, ctaps the same as normal jumps, skips and pogo's stronger. so it fits.

It seems like its just 1 glitch that manages to break everything, not a bunch of purposeful changes, so I would expect this to be reverted.

pretty sure they just changed the jump mechanics so everyone automatically ctaps on jump

the reasoning behind me thinking that valve somehow made it so everyone ctaps is that you can kill yourself with 2 stickies as you do a regular jump. You cannot kill yourself with 2 stickies pre-update, it only put you down to 1 or 2 health, but if you ctapped you were able to kill yourself (model glitching into floor).

Kinda nerdy but ya. For those that like the new rocket jumps congratulations you are basically perfectly ctapping every jump now. For those that actually knew how to do it pre-update i guess we wasted our time.

enigmakirbyYou can't see your contracts updated unless you constantly refresh your HUD. Once you get 100/100 on a contract, you're supposed to press F2 to turn it in, but it does nothing except bring up the contract menu. You can't do anything else besides view contracts and close the menu. I read restarting the game helps, so I did and nothing happened except my contracts are now at 0/100.this problem was fixed for me when I removed my custom HUD

apparently the unusual effect bug also happens when viewing/recording demos, so if for some reason you taunted during a game with a unusual and then went to record some frag after that taunt you will have the unusual effect on your screen

the current jump is like a perfect crouch jump or possibly a bit more. its not as much as a ctap certainly
the angle can be modified beyond what was possible with a perfect rocket jump (eg: a shallow angle, but still getting 100% boost) so that is a big reason why we can get more distance than before.
it is not as much boost as a ctap but it can be directed better (old ctap still goes a bit further at the end of the day)

TimiAll stock weapons look more detailed, even with detail model set to lowest. Previously all weapons looked polygoned, alot.
Now all stock weapons look very circular, but all the other weapons looked polygoned.
Its either the model detail doesnt affect the stock anymore, or they increased their detail in purpose just for the skins.

glad to hear the crashes have stopped

as I read this, the server I was on switched to Snowplow. All terrain was wireframed and all props were Source error models. The game crashed when it tried to load the train model when the round started

Bdonskikaidusstickies charge slower + radius seems bigger now (second part unconfirmed)

sticky jumping is fucked in all the same ways as rocket jumping. Wall jumping fucked, crouch detting fucked, etc
charge time is still 4 seconds, it wasn't changed at all

Maybe it's in my head from testing quickiebomber, but I had 3 other people tell me the same thing. Maybe the meter is the same but each second of charge does less or something, or maybe we're all just dumb. I dunno.

Pipes arc is changed, they fall much faster to the ground. Same with stickies. I might have felt it with the crossbow aswell (not sure). Maybe all projectiles that isn´t rockets is affected like this? :(
