yes by using the achievement tracker HUD element or the 3D player model preview. Both can be enabled and disabled. So you can put HUD crosshairs in those and switch between them with their respective commands

This is a really old method and almost nobody does it anymore because VTF crosshairs are way more convenient for just about everything

From a spectator POV this had potential to be one of the best insomnias ever if the dates hadn't been moved

saw afterwards i did use txt files that already had left arms removed

whilst im here might as well do some bug reports:
Removing left arm on heavy gloves caused animations to break (only tested thisd for gloves of running urgently)
Static reload seems to not work on scout pistols (only tested on winger. happened in the video posted above)

that mod has custom materials, not custom animations. There are currently no animation based mods that remove all arms (left arms are possible w horse's mod)

Since the modding community has discovered a way to use custom models and materials on servers with a whitelist

any source for how this works?
I assume it's using a custom model, but UV mapping an in-game material to it + preloading, but I'm not sure if that's what you're referencing

FujusHey guys, I'm trying to use the commands and the preload_room to bypass sv_pure, but it's not working. I'm not using it for the viewmodels, but for custom hat skins. Is there a way to do this or do these methods only work for viewmodels?

preloading won't work with custom models or particles. Viewmodel animations are one of its few uses

in 2012 something happened to my game that made every explosion spam those red x's all over my screen, and because I was a noob I didn't know how to fix it and just played like that for months lol

coincidentally a cfg.tf pack i downloaded last week actually did the same for sniper rifles.
I played a full scrim with it and got flashbanged multiple times because it was sniper v sniper on product.
it's the reason I instantly made a post here to tell ppl it's horrible

can't imagine how it'd be like to play w that for a long time

Figured I'd look for uses in 6s
(WARNING: Probably bannable. Definitely shouldn't be allowed for altering sniper rifles)

I'd not use this for scouts because it'd be a laser show
It doesn't work for sentries
Sentries have no weapon txt file. tf_weapon_wrench and tf_weapon_robot_arm are just the melee attributes

It works for heavy
tf_weapon_minigun has a "tracer_effect" attribute. red has yellow tracers, blue has green tracers

It does "not" work for snipers
Sniper rifles have no "tracer_effect" attribute. tf_weapon_sniperrifle, tf_weapon_sniperrifle_classic and tf_weapon_sniperrifle_decap are just copies of eachother. So the code for the classic's, machina's and hitman's heatmaker tracers are handled elsewhere.
However, in the screenshot, I added a tracer_effect line to the sniper rifle to see what'd happen.
It works offline! but once you join an actual server you get spammed with error particles. Do not use this. You might think "oh I can know where snipers are at all times now". Nope. It will flashbang you if you are close to ANY sniper, both enemy and friendly. And even at a distance it will block your view of the sniper by being very obstructive (and the sniper himself does not have that issue so you get shot at)
